In addition, based on the data volumes of the clipped images subjected to the processing, the processor derives estimated one page data volumes Then, by using the estimated one page data volumes, the processor derives an estimated data volume of a digital book corresponding to the total pages of the book.

A method includes obtaining an image of a document against a background. A bounding box that bounds a region of the image that is distinguishable from the background is found. Coordinates of a plurality of points of the distinguishable region are found, each point being a point of the distinguishable region that is closest to each corner of the bounding box. The document is identified within the image as a region of the image whose corners are defined by the found coordinates.

A method includes obtaining an image of a document against a background. A bounding box that bounds a region of the image that is distinguishable from the background is found. Coordinates of a plurality of points of the distinguishable region are found, each point being a point of the distinguishable region that is closest to each corner of the bounding box. The document is identified within the image as a region of the image whose corners are defined by the found coordinates.

A control method for controlling a printing apparatus, comprises: performing a binding process for binding, without using a staple, a sheet on which an image is printed based on image data; specifying an area where the binding process is to be performed, the area being included in the image data; deleting image data of the specified area; and printing the image on the sheet based on the image data on which deleting is performed.

At the time of registering an image in units of documents, which is obtained by performing multi-cropping processing for a scanned image, and value information extracted from each image in a database in association with each other, there is a case where it is not possible to extract the value information successfully because of an overlap between documents during a scan. The image forming apparatus includes a test print selection portion, an original document reading portion, a test print page specification portion, a test print portion, a sheet set member, a print instruction portion and a print portion, where from image data on the read original document, overall page information, information specifying the page on which the test print is performed and detection information indicating that the test print page is set in the sheet set member, based on the instruction from the print instruction portion, the print portion performs the print while inserting the test print page into the intended page.

A method performed under control of a storage manager may include identifying a subject of an image; determining a resolution value for the image based, at least in part, on the identified subject; and modifying a resolution of the image in accordance with the determined resolution value.

A method and system for removing objects from a print document are provided. An image forming apparatus receives a print document sent from a computing device remote from the image forming apparatus. The print document includes print data. The image forming apparatus further receives a directive to remove, from the print document, at least one type of object selected for removal, wherein the print data includes data representing one or more objects of the type of object selected for removal. In response to the directive, the image forming apparatus removes the one or more objects of the type of object selected for removal prior to printing the print document.

A method and system for removing objects from a print document are provided. An image forming apparatus receives a print document sent from a computing device remote from the image forming apparatus. The print document includes print data. The image forming apparatus further receives a directive to remove, from the print document, at least one type of object selected for removal, wherein the print data includes data representing one or more objects of the type of object selected for removal. In response to the directive, the image forming apparatus removes the one or more objects of the type of object selected for removal prior to printing the print document.
