HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING VISUAL AID USING SAME
An external scene image captured by an external scene imaging electronic camera attached to a head mounted display (HMD) is projected and displayed onto an image display screen arranged in front of the eyes of the user as a virtual image with a suitable viewing distance corresponding to the visual acuity of the user. At this time, for each object image presented in the virtual image of the external scene image, the virtual image is processed and formatted to add a predetermined degree of binocular disparity and image blur to the virtual image projected and displayed on the right and the left image display screen on the basis of a predetermined converted distance calculated from the real distance of each object. Thus, the user is given a sense of a realistic perspective for the virtual image of the external scene, free of the discomfort or unease.
Mirror and media display device assembly apparatuses and methods
A combination mirror and media display device assembly includes a mirror platform. The mirror platform has a media display device viewing area and a reflective area. A reflectivity of the media display device viewing area is less than a reflectivity of the reflective area. The assembly includes a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is coupled to the mirror platform. The mounting bracket is open on one side and the opening in the mounting bracket is configured to accept a media display device. A method to place a media display device within a mirror platform assembly includes inserting a media display device through an opening in a mounting bracket, wherein a mirror platform is attached to the mounting bracket and the mirror platform has a media display device viewing area. The method includes aligning the media display device with the media display device viewing area during the inserting and coupling the media display device to the mounting bracket, wherein the media display device is removably coupled to the mounting bracket.
Hinge assembly and foldable display device using the same
A foldable display device includes a first plate member, a second plate member, a hinge assembly, and a flexible display member. The first plate member includes a first display surface and a first side. The second plate member includes a second display surface and a second side. The first side and the second side are close to each other. A first hinge member and a second hinge member of the hinge assembly are respectively connected to the first plate member and the second plate member. The flexible display member includes a first portion, a second portion, and a middle portion. The first portion contacts the first display surface. The second portion contacts the second display surface. The middle portion is between the first side and the second side. The first and second hinge members rotate relatively to have the flexible display member spread to be flat.
DISPLAY DEVICE, AND BACK PLATE USED IN DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes a display panel that displays an image and a back plate that holds the display panel. The back plate has mounting sections, a plurality of vertically bulging sections, and a laterally bulging section. The mounting sections are disposed on a plurality of positions on an edge part of one end of the back plate, and holding members that hold the display device are mounted to the mounting sections respectively. The vertically bulging sections bulge out from a reference surface of the back plate, and extend from near one ends of the mounting sections to an edge part of the other end of the back plate on an opposite side from the one end of the back plate. The laterally bulging section bulges out from the reference surface, extends along an edge of the other end of the back plate, and has a length larger than a distance between the vertically bulging sections adjacent to each other.
DISPLAY APPARATUS
Disclosed herein are a display apparatus capable of accomplishing common use of instrument and being repaired by installing a touch panel driving board on the outer side of the display apparatus. A display apparatus comprising a display module comprising a display panel configured to display an image, a panel disposed in front of the display module, a first cover disposed behind the display module, and a panel driving board configured to drive the panel, and disposed to be exposed outside of the first cover.
ROLLABLE DISPLAY DEVICE
A rollable display device includes: a panel support including a plurality of support bars arranged in a direction and a plurality of flexible coupling portions between support bars of the plurality of support bars and coupling the plurality of support bars together; and a flexible display panel fixed to respective front sides of support bars of the plurality of support bars, and the plurality of support bars includes a first support bar that is spaced apart from an outermost support bar of the plurality of support bars, and the first support bar includes a pair of first holding bars that are spreadable toward an outside from a rear side of the first support bar.
Display apparatus, display control method, and portable terminal apparatus, and program
The present technology relates to a display apparatus, a display control method, a portable terminal apparatus, and a program capable of representing various states of an apparatus in a limited region. A television receiver includes a display unit that displays a predetermined image, a communication unit that performs communication of image data with another image display apparatus, an indicator unit that is disposed at at least a part of surroundings of the display unit and includes an indicator which is turned on with predetermined luminance, and a control unit that turns on the indicator so as to correspond to a transmission operation of the image data in another image display apparatus. The present invention is applicable to, for example, a display apparatus such as a television receiver.

IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING A PLURALITY OF DISPLAY MODES
Methods and apparatus provide for controlling an image display apparatus worn on a head of a user, including: producing a planar image representing virtual objects in a virtual world, wherein the planar image includes characteristics that require the image display apparatus to be a non-see-through image display apparatus that does not allow the user to visually recognize real world objects outside the virtual world; and displaying the planar image on the image display apparatus in a display mode that changes a shape of the planar image as a function of a change in position and/or orientation of the image display apparatus, wherein the change in the shape of the planar image includes presenting the planar image in an orientation other than a front direction of the user.
