20180239150 · 2018-08-23 ·

A display device is provided with (A) a frame that is worn on a head of a viewer, and (B) an image display device 100 mounted to the frame. The image display device is provided with (B-1) an image forming device 111, and (B-2) an optical device 120 that forms a virtual image on the basis of light emitted from the image forming device 111. The light from the image forming device 111 enters a pupil 21 of the viewer 20 through the optical device 120. The optical device 120 is provided at least with a first glass plate 121, a second glass plate 122 that faces the first glass plate 121, and a shock absorbing layer 123 sandwiched between the first glass plate 121 and the second glass plate 122.

HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAY DEVICE

Provided is a head mounted display (HMD) device that lets a user organize added information and thereby makes it possible to improve the ease with which the information can be perceived. A head mounted display device enables a user to visually recognize a virtual image overlaid on a scene. A control unit virtually sets a plurality of display zones, having different depth-direction positions, in front of the user; identifies a display zone being gazed at by the user, on the basis of gaze position information from a gaze position detection unit; drives a focus position adjusting unit so as to align the depth position of the identified display zone with the focus position of a virtual image of the displayed image; acquires, from a cloud server via a communication unit, image information indicating information associated with the identified display zone; and causes a display to display the display image corresponding to the acquired image information.

PLATE-TYPE VACUUM HEAT TRANSFER APPARATUS FOR TELEVISION
20180238631 · 2018-08-23 ·

Disclosed herein is a plate-type vacuum heat transfer apparatus for a television. The apparatus includes a first plate and a second plate sealed to define an internal space in a vacuum state, a mesh member disposed between the first and second plates, and a heat transfer medium supplied to a portion of the internal space. Each of the first and second plates includes an edge protruding to a hexagonal honeycomb structure formed such that a vertex thereof is located in a direction of gravity. Hexagonal honeycomb structures of the first and second plates overlap at some edges to be offset from each other, thus providing the internal space for allowing communication and a flow passage of the heat transfer medium.

There is provided an information processing device, an information processing method, and a program that enable improvement in the operability of an HMD. An output control unit prevents reflection of an operation in an output, in accordance with the attachment state of a housing to be attached to a head of a user. The operation is performed on an operation receiving unit provided in the housing. The present technology can be applied to a display module that forms an HMD.

Display device and method of controlling the same

A display device and a method of controlling the same. The display device includes a display configured to display an image; and a controller configured to perform image processing on the displayed such that a radius of curvature of the displayed image and a radius of curvature of a visible image are different. The image can be enlarged to a maximum area providing in the display device by applying analogous viewing distance calculation method used in the curved display device with respect to the scaling of the image. Accordingly, the discontinuity of the image can be removed by providing continuous scaling, and the perspective, presence, viewing experience can be enhanced while adaptively correcting the brightness. The display device can display the image having the curvature that the user wants, and thus resemble the curved display device. Further, optical illusion of watching the three-dimensional image can be generated.

Hybrid modular device

A hybrid modular appliance or electronic device allows a user to plug a number of snap-together component modules of different types into a base device, so that the resulting assembly performs a custom-designed functionality. With no attached component modules, the base device functions as a standalone consumer or office appliance. At least one component module has its functionality not supporting the functionality of the base device, thereby allowing the resulting assembly a hybrid device. Examples of the hybrid modular devices include a TV-Wi-Fi-router, and a TV-storage-DVR-Wi-Fi-router. A hybrid modular device can serve as a videoconference device, a music jukebox, or a home theater unit.
