20170206872 · 2017-07-20 ·

The systems and methods of illuminating instrument features disclosed herein provide for the illumination of the interior of an instrument, such as an acoustic guitar with a sound hole, and a drum, among others, with an illumination source (a non-limiting example is light emitting diodes (LEDs)). One or more illumination sources may be attached to the inside of the instrument to direct light such that the hole is illuminated. The illuminated opening may reveal as non-limiting examples, logos, art work, messages, wording, and text, among others.

Projection display apparatus

An optical modulator element modulates incident light from a light source with an input signal. A projection lens magnifies and projects the outgoing light from the optical modulator element. A pixel shift element is disposed between the optical modulator element and the projection lens, and displaces an optical path of the outgoing light from the optical modulator element for shifting a display position of a pixel to be displayed on a screen in a given cycle between a first position and a second position away from the first position by a predetermined distance. A controller controls the pixel shift element such that the pixel shifts between the first position and the second position in either one of a first mode at a shift speed or a second mode at another second shift speed.

Various embodiments relate to an apparatus for controlling a lighting device. A light control circuit can use a controlled lighting sequence control and drive viewed sections of a lighting device to display chroma key color or emit infrared light, while driving other unviewed portions of the lighting device to display ambient and incident lighting. The viewed and unviewed lighting sections can be based on the field of vision of an image capture device and can change in relation to movements of the image capture device. A sensor can make measurements to determine to field of vision of the image capture device and can be used to generate or modify the controlled lighting sequence. An image processing circuit can generate a composite image using the chroma key while maintaining the subjects that are captured using ambient and incident lighting.

METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING A LUMA VALUE
20170188000 · 2017-06-29 ·

A method of determining a luma value from 4:4:4 RGB video data for encoding chroma downsampled 4:2:0 YCbCr video data into a bitstream. A location, in a colour space defined by linear luminance and non-linear 4:2:0 chroma values, is determined from the RGB video data. A region that contains the determined location is determined, the region being one region of a plurality of regions located in the colour space and having a plurality of associated coefficients. One or more of the coefficients associated with the determined region are selected, the selected coefficients being used to map the linear luminance and non-linear 4:2:0 chroma values to a luma value that compensates for a luminance shift introduced by chroma downsampling of the non-linear 4:2:0 chroma values. The method then determines the luma value for encoding into the bitstream according to a function of the selected coefficients and the determined location.

Method and device for improving configuration of communication devices in a video projection system comprising multiple wireless video projectors

The present invention relates to improving configuration of wireless communication paths between devices in a video projection system comprising multiple wireless video projectors. When an initial radio communication setup is required between a managing node, e.g. a node comprising a master projector, and a node comprising a slave projector, for example following the powering up of the video projection system, the slave node receives setup information by radio communication means according to a sweeping sequence and transmits information by projecting sub-images. Sub-images advantageously comprise information relative to settings of the master node allowing reception in the corresponding slave node of a radio signal transmitted by the master node.
