Stowable hood for apparel
A hood for a garment. As assembled, the garment includes a covering for a torso portion of an intended user. The torso portion includes a back section that includes at least two panels defining an interstitial space for stowing a flattened hood. The hood assembled to the garment includes one or more panels of drapable sheet material configured to cover an intended user's head. The hood has a body having one or more perimetrical edges defining a facial area 11 configured to expose a predetermined portion of an intended user's face. The hood has a top section, with downwardly extending back and side sections. The hood is flattenable, without folding, rolling, creasing, crumpling, etc. so as to either not (1) reduce the length or width of the hood relative to an intended donned state or (2) substantially overlap materials in the flattened state. The hood is anchored to the torso portion along a back perimetrical edge of the hood to at least one of the torso portion panels. The panels include an opening for receiving the hood into the interstitial space, the interstitial space being configured to receive and stow the hood in the flattened state.
Bandanna
A bandanna is provided that includes a generally square piece of material defining a first, second, third, and fourth corner. A first diametric axis bisects the first and second corners and a second diametric axis bisects the third and fourth corners. The material defines a first pair of diametrically opposed openings respectively at the first and second corner. The material is configured to be folded about the second diametric axis into a triangle to align the openings of the first pair of openings. The material is configured to interconnect at least one of the third and fourth corners with the first and second corners through the first pair of openings. The openings may be formed as elongated slits, which may extend along or parallel to the first diametric axis. The material may have at least one region for displaying indicia, including at least one of sports related graphics, non-sports related graphics, and corporate logos.
Skin protecting garment
A skin protecting garment includes a back panel, a lower front panel coupled to the back panel, and an upper front panel coupled to the back panel. An upward facing opening is formed by the back panel and the upper front panel. The upward facing opening is dimensioned, shaped and positioned to expose a top of a user's head. A forward facing slit is between the lower front panel and the upper front panel. The forward facing slit is dimensioned, shaped and positioned to expose the user's eyes. The back panel, the lower front panel and the upper front panel are each formed of a material configured to block ultraviolet (UV) light.
Multi-layered structure and articles formed therefrom having improved splash resistance by increased interlayer spacing
A splash resistant multi-layered structure is provided. The structure includes a specific arrangement of layers of material and a plurality of three-dimensional spacers that helps prevent penetration through the structure by a fluid that contacts an outer surface of the structure due to a state of forced separation that exists between two adjacent layers of the structure due to the presence of the plurality of three-dimensional spacers positioned between the layers. The plurality of three-dimensional spacers can be positioned on one of the adjacent layers of the structure such that a distance at least as large as the maximum height of the plurality of three-dimensional spacers separates the two layers from each other and can be present on a layer of material in a continuous or discontinuous pattern or can be present on a layer of material in a random fashion. The presence of the three-dimensional spacers can reduce the basis weight or eliminate one or more layers of the structure, which, in turn, can reduce thermal resistance, lower the pressure drop across the layers of the structure, and reduce the overall weight of the structure to enhance breathability and comfort.
Arcuate support pillow with detachable hood
A novel pillow with a detachable hood comprising a drawstring for providing comfort, privacy, sound dampening, and protection to a user. The pillow comprises an arcuate bladder and upper half hood which may be hemispherical or semi-hemispherical. The pillow may be inflatable or stuffed.
