There is provided an information processing device including an acquisition unit that acquires incidental information, and a control unit that associates the incidental information with content, until a state is turned into a state in which a predetermined condition is satisfied after the acquisition of the incidental information.

An image processing apparatus includes a setting unit and a conversion unit. The setting unit sets a gradation threshold. The conversion unit converts a gradation value greater than the gradation threshold in an input image into a predetermined gradation value, converts a gradation value equal to or less than the gradation threshold in the input image into a gradation value equal to or less than the predetermined gradation value, and generates an output image. In a case where the input image is an image processed in such a manner as to enhance a predetermined area, the setting unit sets the gradation threshold such that a surrounding area of the predetermined area of the input image becomes equal to or less than the gradation threshold.

In one aspect, a method involves (i) selecting a log-entry, wherein the log entry corresponds to a streaming-video source; (ii) causing streaming video to start being channeled from the streaming-video source to an air-chain system; (iii) making a determination that the log-entry includes a special identifier; (iv) responsive to making the determination, causing a recording device to start recording the streaming video; (v) causing a set of commercial VCs to be sent to the air-chain system; (vi) causing the recording device to stop recording the streaming video; (vii) determining a beginning and an ending position of at least two show-segment VCs included in the recorded video, wherein the at least two show-segments are separated by a commercial break; and (viii) for each of the show-segment VCs included in the recorded video, assigning a corresponding segment identifier and the corresponding determined beginning and ending positions to the recorded video.

A method for playing media data is disclosed, including: transmitting, by a first operating system, a request for processing the media data to a second operating system, the first operating system and the second operating system being installed on a same device; receiving, by the first operating system, processing results from the second operating system, wherein the second operating system is configured to process the media data based at least in part on the request to generate the processing results; and playing the media data by the first operating system based at least in part on the processing results.

Disclosed are various embodiments for presenting a timeline interface in association with video content features. A user interface is rendered on a display, where the user interface includes selectable cast member components and a timeline component. The timeline component corresponds to a video content feature and visually segments it into scenes. A user selection of a particular selectable cast member component is received, and a subset of scenes in which a corresponding cast member performs is determined based at least in part on extrinsic data. The timeline component is updated to visually indicate the subset of scenes.

Disclosed are various embodiments for presenting a timeline interface in association with video content features. According to one embodiment, a computer program product comprises a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having computer program code embodied therewith, where the computer program code is readable and/or executable by a first recording device to cause the first recording device to receive, at the first recording device, a request to record a contiguous television program, store the contiguous television program on the first recording device, receive, at the first recording device, a user request to transfer data from the first recording device to a second recording device, receive, at the first recording device, a selection of the contiguous television program for transfer from the first recording device to the second recording device, and send to the second recording device from the first recording device the contiguous television program stored on the first recording device.

According to one embodiment, a computer program product comprises a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having computer program code embodied therewith, where the computer program code is readable and/or executable by a first recording device to cause the first recording device to receive, at the first recording device, a request to record a contiguous television program, store the contiguous television program on the first recording device, receive, at the first recording device, a user request to transfer data from the first recording device to a second recording device, receive, at the first recording device, a selection of the contiguous television program for transfer from the first recording device to the second recording device, and send to the second recording device from the first recording device the contiguous television program stored on the first recording device.

In an embodiment, a system and method permit an IPTV subscriber to display on a channel of an IPTV network video data from a subscriber video database. The system may include, in addition to the IPTV network and the subscriber database, an IPTV server and an IPTV set top box. The IPTV set top box is configured to receive commands causing the IPTV set top box to retrieve video data from an IPTV subscriber database, display the video data on an IPTV display unit; and to transmit the video data over an IPTV network to an IPTV server. The IPTV server is configured to transmit the video data from the IPTV server over the IPTV network such that the video data is displayable on a channel of the IPTV network.

In an embodiment, a system and method permit an IPTV subscriber to display on a channel of an IPTV network video data from a subscriber video database. The system may include, in addition to the IPTV network and the subscriber database, an IPTV server and an IPTV set top box. The IPTV set top box is configured to receive commands causing the IPTV set top box to retrieve video data from an IPTV subscriber database, display the video data on an IPTV display unit; and to transmit the video data over an IPTV network to an IPTV server. The IPTV server is configured to transmit the video data from the IPTV server over the IPTV network such that the video data is displayable on a channel of the IPTV network.
