Privacy display apparatus
A privacy display comprises a liquid crystal spatial light modulator, a switchable retarder and a passive compensation retarder arranged between a pair of polarisers. In a privacy mode of operation, on-axis light from the spatial light modulator is directed without change of image contrast, whereas off-axis light has reduced contrast to reduce the visibility of the display to off-axis snoopers over a wide polar angular range. In a wide angle mode of operation, the retardance of the switchable retarder is adjusted so that off-axis contrast is substantially unmodified.

DISPLAY CONTROL SYSTEM, DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE, AND DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD
A display control system includes a work machine and a display control device. The work machine includes work equipment, a depth detection device configured to detect a depth in a detection range and provided at a position where the work equipment does not interfere with the detection range, and a posture detection device configured to detect a posture of the work machine. The display control device includes a map generation unit configured to generate a three-dimensional map representing a shape around the work machine based on depth information generated by the depth detection device and posture information generated by the posture detection device, a depth image generation unit configured to generate a depth image representing a depth of a range including a position of the work equipment in the three-dimensional map, and a display control unit configured to output a display signal to display the depth image.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGE
A method of generating hologram data in a holographic display apparatus, including a hologram processing device generating hologram data and a display terminal reconstructing a hologram image in a three-dimensional (3D) space on the basis of the generated hologram data, includes generating depth map image data from input image data by using a deep learning engine for generating a depth map and calculating a complex value hologram on the basis of the depth map image data and the input image data to generate the hologram data.
Camera system, video processing apparatus, and camera apparatus
Disclosed herein is a camera system including, a camera apparatus having, an image sensor, a correction section, a first transmission processing section, and a synchronization processing section, and a video processing apparatus having a second transmission processing section and a conversion section, wherein the video processing apparatus outputs the video data obtained by the conversion by the conversion section.

Intelligent privacy system, apparatus, and method thereof
A directional display apparatus including a directional display device that is capable of directing a displayed image into a viewing window of variable width is provided with a privacy control function. A control system detects the presence of one or more secondary viewers in addition to a primary viewer, and decides whether the one or more secondary viewers is permitted to view the displayed image. The control system directs a displayed image into a viewing window which is adjusted, for example by decreasing the width, in dependence on that detection. In addition, the control system detects relative movement between the primary viewer and the display device, and the width of the viewing window is increased in response to detection of said relative movement.
Pattern projection depth value 3D scanning device and method
Disclosed are a 3D scanning apparatus and a 3D scanning method. The 3D scanning apparatus includes a projector projecting patterns previously set onto a subject that is to be 3D scanned, a photographing unit photographing each of the patterns projected onto the subject at each of exposure levels previously set, a calculating unit calculating a depth value for each pixel of the subject based on the patterns photographed at each of the exposure levels, and a scanning unit 3D scanning the subject, which is photographed, based on the calculated depth value. The calculating unit calculates the depth value for each pixel of the subject by calculating the depth value for each pixel of the subject at each of the exposure levels and combining the depth values for the pixel, which are calculated at each of the exposure levels.
Electronic device and control method therefor
An electronic device and a control method therefor are disclosed. An electronic device according to the present invention comprises: a communication unit for performing data communication with at least one peripheral device; an output unit for outputting virtual environment content; and a control unit for controlling the output unit so as to play the virtual environment content according to a user command, determining the peripheral device, which can provide a function corresponding to a virtual effect, among peripheral devices of which there is at least one, on the basis of information on the virtual effect provided from the virtual environment content, and controlling the communication unit so as to transmit a control signal, which corresponds to the virtual effect, to the determined peripheral device. Therefore, the electronic device playing the virtual environment content provides the virtual effect related to the playing virtual environment content by using the peripheral device, thereby enabling an experience related to various virtual environments to be provided to a user.
OCULAR OPTICAL SYSTEM, MEDICAL VIEWER, AND MEDICAL VIEWER SYSTEM
The purpose is to provide a higher-quality three-dimensional image with a downsized optical system that does not need interpupillary adjustment. An ocular optical system according to the present disclosure includes, on an optical path viewed from an observer side, at least: a first polarization member; a mirror; a second polarization member; and an image display device in this order. A polarized state in the first polarization member and a polarized state in the second polarization member are orthogonal to each other.
