Autostereoscopic screen and method for reproducing image information

The present invention relates to an autostereoscopic screen for the simultaneous reproduction of at least two different images, in a manner such that each of these images is visible from at least one of different viewing zones, comprising a subpixel matrix, an optical element and a control unit, wherein the control unit is configured, on the subpixel matrix, to define different subsets of subpixels such that each of the subsets forms a family of parallel strips and is assigned to at least one of the viewing zones, wherein the strips of the different subsets cyclically alternate, and to activate the subpixels in dependence on image data such that each of the images is reproduced on one of the subsets, wherein the optical element has a grating-like structure aligned according to the strips, in order to lead light departing from the subpixels of each of the subsets into the viewing zone assigned to this subgroup. Thereby, the control unit is further configured to define the subsets such that two of subsets overlap, and to activate the subpixels within an intersection of these subsets, in each case with an averaged intensity value. The invention further relates to a suitable method for reproducing image information on an autostereoscopic screen.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL DISPLAYS USING ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD COMPUTATIONS

Methods, apparatus, devices, and systems for three-dimensional (3D) displaying objects are provided. In one aspect, a method includes obtaining data including respective primitive data for primitives corresponding to an object, determining an electromagnetic (EM) field contribution to each element of a display for each of the primitives by calculating an EM field propagation from the primitive to the element, generating a sum of the EM field contributions from the primitives for each of the elements, transmitting to each of the elements a respective control signal for modulating at least one property of the element based on the sum of the EM field contributions, and transmitting a timing control signal to an illuminator to activate the illuminator to illuminate light on the display, such that the light is caused by the modulated elements of the display to form a volumetric light field corresponding to the object.

A modeled object distribution management system includes a creator storage unit, a first display controller and a second display controller. The creator storage unit stores modeled object-related information including information indicating stereoscopic images of created modeled objects. The first display controller displays the stereoscopic images to allow a client to browse the stereoscopic images, by using the information indicating the stereoscopic images which is stored in the creator storage unit. The second display controller displays a modeling plan to allow the client to browse the modeling plan. The modeling plan includes a modeling method and a material which are used to model a modeled object corresponding to a stereoscopic image selected by the client from the stereoscopic images displayed in the first display controller.
