METHOD AND APPARATUS PROVIDING OPTIMIZED MPEG VALIDATION IN A CABLE TV NETWORK
A method and test instrument for validating MPEG content in a CATV network, particularly one having a Remote PHY architecture.
Estimating real-time delay of a video data stream
In an arrangement where a physical phenomenon affects a digital video camera and is measured or sensed by a sensor, a delay of a digital video stream from the digital video camera is estimated. The digital video stream is processed by a video processor for producing a signal that represents the changing over time of the effect of the physical phenomenon on the digital video camera. The signal is then compared with the sensor output signal, such as by using cross-correlation or cross-convolution, for estimating the time delay between the compared signals. The estimated time delay may be used for synchronizing when combining additional varied data to the digital video stream for low-error time alignment. The physical phenomenon may be based on mechanical position or motion, such as pitch, yaw, or roll. The time delay estimating may be performed once, upon user control, periodically, or continuously.
Video quality determination system and method
A computer-implemented method and related system for determining a quality of a synthesized video file. The method includes processing a reference video file and a synthesized video file associated with the reference video file to compare the original video file and the synthesized video file. The method also includes determining an extent of flicker distortion of the synthesized video file based on the processing.
RESONANT TESTING SYSTEM AND RESONANT TESTING METHOD
A resonant testing system for testing a device under test, including a processing circuit, a microphone array and a camera is disclosed. The processing circuit generates a scanning frequency signal and transmits the scanning frequency signal to the device under test, which plays sound based on the scanning frequency signal. The microphone array includes several microphones, each of the microphones receives the sound played by the device under test, and the microphone array outputs several audio signals corresponding to the microphones. The camera captures a real time image signal of the device under test, and transmits the real time image signal to the processing circuit. The processing circuit computes resonant positions and resonant levels according to the audio signals, and combines the resonant positions, the resonant levels and the real time image signal to generate a real time resonant result. A resonance testing method is disclosed.
ENHANCED REAL-TIME VISUAL QUALITY METRIC GENERATION FOR VIDEO CODING
This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to generating visual quality metrics for encoded video frames. A method may include generating respective first visual quality metrics for pixels of an encoded video frame; generating respective second visual quality metrics for the pixels, the respective first visual quality metrics and the respective second visual quality metrics indicative of estimated human perceptions of the encoded video frame; generating a pixel block-based weight for the respective first visual quality metrics; generating a frame-based weight for the respective second visual quality metrics; and generating, based on the respective first visual quality metrics, the pixel block-based weight, the respective second visual quality metrics, and the frame-based weight, a human visual score indicative of a visual quality of the encoded video frame.
VIDEO QUALITY ASSESSMENT USING AGGREGATED QUALITY VALUES
Calculating, for each frame of a plurality of frames, a corresponding quality value; calculating, for each frame of the plurality of frames, based on one or more visual attributes of a frame, a weight for the corresponding quality value of the frame; calculating an aggregate quality value for the plurality of frames based on the weight and the corresponding quality value for each frame of the plurality of frames; and providing an assessment of the plurality of frames based on the aggregate quality value for the plurality of frames.
FLICKER MEASURING DEVICE, FLICKER MEASURING METHOD, AND FLICKER MEASURING PROGRAM
A flicker measuring device of the present invention: receives light emitted from an object to be measured and outputs a light reception signal corresponding to an amount of received light; acquires the output light reception signal a plurality of times from a measurement start time point to a steady time point at which the object to be measured is in a steady state, obtains a flicker value of the object to be measured for each of the plurality of times on the basis of the acquired light reception signal, and stores the flicker value obtained for each of the plurality of times in a storage in association with an acquisition time point of the light reception signal; and performs an arithmetic processing of obtaining a flicker shift time by using each flicker value stored, in which in the arithmetic processing, an amount of overall change is obtained that is an amount of change of the flicker value from the initial flicker value to the steady flicker value, a predetermined ratio time point is obtained at which an amount of change of the flicker value from the reference flicker value is a predetermined ratio of the amount of overall change, and an elapsed time between the predetermined ratio time point and the reference time point is obtained as the flicker shift time.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSESSING QUALITY OF VR VIDEO
A method for assessing quality of a VR video, including: obtaining a bit rate, a frame rate, resolution, and TI of a VR video, and determining a mean opinion score (MOS) of the VR video based on the bit rate, the frame rate, the resolution, and the TI of the VR video. The MOS of the VR video is used to represent quality of the VR video. Further, an assessment apparatus is provided. In the embodiments, accuracy of an assessment result of a VR video can be improved.
Video dynamic range analysis
A video analyzer measures and outputs a visual indication of a dynamic range of a video signal. The video analyzer includes a video input to receive the video signal and a cumulative distribution function generator generates a cumulative distribution function curve from a component of the video signal. A feature detector generates one or more feature vectors from the cumulative distribution function curve and a video dynamic range generator produces a visual output indicating a luminance of one or more portions of the video signal.
