An image encoding method is used for encoding a current picture on a block-by-block basis and includes: generating a reference picture list by (i) assigning a reference picture index to a reference picture referable for encoding the current picture and (ii) including the reference picture assigned the reference picture index into the reference picture list; and encoding a current block included in the current picture with reference to a reference picture that is specified, from the reference picture list, for encoding the current block, wherein, when a reference picture belonging to a reference view different from a current view to which the current picture belongs has a chance of being referenced for encoding the current picture, the reference picture belonging to the reference view is added to the reference picture list in the generating.

The present invention relates to an adaptive medical image transmission device and method which consider communication state and residual power. The adaptive medical image transmission method induces an image receiving device to post-process a result of medical image processing performed by a medical image transmission device by: receiving medical image data by means of a probe; sensing communication throughput indicative of a communication state between the image transmission device and the image receiving device; variably determining a data rate required to transmit data on the basis of a preset data rate based on the sensed communication throughput; performing medical image processing by selecting a signal path which satisfies the determined data rate with respect to the medical image data; and transmitting the result of the medical image processing to the image receiving device according to the determined data rate.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a video information encoding method comprises: a step of predicting information of the current coding unit to generate prediction information; and a step of determining whether the information of the current coding unit coincides with the prediction information. A further coding efficiency increase is achieved by, in hybrid video coding, additionally predicting the residual signal of a current frame by motion-compensated prediction using a reference residual signal of a previous frame. In other words, in order to further reduce the energy of the final residual signal, i.e. the one finally transmitted, and thus increase the coding efficiency, it is proposed to additionally predict the residual signal by motion-compensated prediction using the reconstructed residual signals of previously coded frames.

A method for coding image information includes generating prediction information by predicting information on a current coding unit, and determining whether the information on the current coding unit is the same as the prediction information. When the information on the current coding unit is the same as the prediction information, a flag indicating that the information on the current coding unit is the same as the prediction information is coded and transmitted. At the generating of the prediction information, the prediction information is generated by using the information on the coding unit neighboring to the current coding unit.

A method for coding image information includes generating prediction information by predicting information on a current coding unit, and determining whether the information on the current coding unit is the same as the prediction information. When the information on the current coding unit is the same as the prediction information, a flag indicating that the information on the current coding unit is the same as the prediction information is coded and transmitted. When the information on the current coding unit is not the same as the prediction information, a flag indicating that the information on the current coding unit is not the same as the prediction information and the information on the current coding unit are coded and transmitted. At the generating of the prediction information, the prediction information is generated by using the information on the coding unit neighboring to the current coding unit.

Disclosed herein are an inter prediction mode-based image processing method and an apparatus therefor. Specifically, a method for processing an image based on an inter prediction mode may include: generating a temporary candidate list by using a spatial neighbor block or temporal neighbor block of a current block; calculating a cost for each candidate in the temporary candidate list by using a template of the current block; generating a final candidate list by rearranging candidates of the temporary candidate list based on the calculated cost; decoding a merge index indicating a specific candidate in the final candidate list; and generating a prediction block of the current block by using motion information of a candidate indicated by the merge index.
