Image signal processor for local motion estimation and video codec
Image signal processing including generating image signal processing based encoding hints for motion estimation may include an image signal processor obtaining an input image portion of an input image from the input image signal, generating motion information for the input image portion, processing the input image portion based on the motion information, outputting processed image data, and outputting the motion information as encoding hints, such that the motion information is accessible by an encoder for generating an encoded output bitstream by obtaining the processed image data as source image data, obtaining the motion information, generating prediction data for encoding the source image data based on the motion information, generating encoded image data based on the prediction data, and including the encoded image data in an encoded output bitstream.

Volumetric video compression with motion history
Techniques related to pose estimation for an articulated body are discussed. Such techniques may include extracting, segmenting, classifying, and labeling blobs, generating initial kinematic parameters that provide spatial relationships of elements of a kinematic model representing an articulated body, and refining the kinematic parameters to provide a pose estimation for the articulated body.

METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR ENCODING AND DECODING VIDEO USING PERIODIC BUFFER DESCRIPTION
A method of encoding video including: writing a plurality of predetermined buffer descriptions into a sequence parameter set of a coded video bitstream; writing a plurality of updating parameters into a slice header of the coded video bitstream for selecting and modifying one buffer description out of the plurality of buffer descriptions; and encoding a slice into the coded video bitstream using the slice header and the modified buffer description.

Indication of bilateral filter usage in video coding
Embodiments include use of a bilateral filter applied to reconstructed blocks as an in-loop filter by both the encoder and decoder. In particular, embodiments include systems and methods of explicitly and implicitly signaling for which blocks to apply bilateral filtering.
SELECTIVE IMAGE COMPRESSION OF AN IMAGE STORED ON A DEVICE BASED ON USER PREFERENCES
A computer-implemented method according to one embodiment includes classifying an image stored on a device as a type of image. A user's access pattern of other images also classified as the type of image is analyzed. The method further includes analyzing at least one sharing medium that the user has previously used to share the image and/or other images. The analyzing the at least one medium is at least in part based on the classified type of the image. A previously recorded delete pattern of the user is analyzed. The analyzing the previously recorded delete pattern of the user is at least in part based on the classified type of the image. Based on the classified type of the image and/or based on results of the analyses, the image is categorized to one of a plurality of image compression categories. Each category corresponds to a degree of image compression.
