Color conversion between color spaces using reduced dimension embeddings
Exemplary embodiments may provide an approach to converting multidimensional color data for an image encoded in a first color space into an intermediate form that is a single dimensional value. The exemplary embodiments may then decode the intermediate form value to produce an encoding of the color data that is encoded in a second color space that differs from the first color space. In this manner, the data for the image may be efficiently converted from an encoding in the first color space into an encoding in the second color space.
SYSTEM FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE ON-DEMAND VIDEO TRANSCODING
The Cloud-based Video Streaming Service (CVSS) architecture is disclosed to transcode video streams in an on-demand manner. The architecture provides a platform for streaming service providers to utilize cloud resources in a cost-efficient manner and with respect to the Quality of Service (QoS) demands of video streams. In particular, the architecture includes a QoS-aware scheduling method to efficiently map video streams to cloud resources, and a cost-aware dynamic (i.e., elastic) resource provisioning policy that adapts the resource acquisition with respect to the video streaming QoS demands. Simulation results based on realistic cloud traces and with various workload conditions, demonstrate that the CVSS architecture can satisfy video streaming QoS demands and reduces the incurred cost of stream providers up to 70%.
Centralised interactive graphical application server
A system for processing a plurality of graphical programs on a centralized computer system whereby the images produced by the programs are compressed and transmitted to a plurality of remote processing devices where they are decompressed. Compression assistance data (CAD) is produced by intercepting instructions outputted by the programs and the CAD is then used in the compression step.

Key frame aligned transcoding using key frame list file
Systems and methods are provided for transcoding a set of key frame aligned output files from a source file. A key frame list file is generated while transcoding a first output file of the set. Subsequent output files of the set may be created non-sequentially and in parallel using the key frame list file.

Video encoding optimization with extended spaces
Embodiments of the present invention may provide a video coder. The video coder may include an encoder to perform coding operations on a video signal in a first format to generate coded video data, and a decoder to decode the coded video data. The video coder may also include an inverse format converter to convert the decoded video data to second format that is different than the first format and an estimator to generate a distortion metric using the decoded video data in the second format and the video signal in the second format. The encoder may adjust the coding operations based on the distortion metric.
