Method for limiting the memory required for recording an audio, image or video file created by virtue of an apparatus in said apparatus
Method and apparatus for the digital encoding of a first raw file, the method includes: a first step of capturing the raw file, the raw file being an audio and/or image and/or video file; a second step of encoding the captured raw file into a second file, in a proprietary format (P); then, a third step for re-encoding the second file into a third file in a compatible format (C).

Multi-layer video coding
A device for encoding video data includes a memory configured to store at least a portion of a multi-layer bitstream of video data and one or more processors configured to determine that a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message applies to more than one layer of the multi-layer video data; determine that the SEI message references a syntax element that has multiple instances associated with the more than one layer of the multi-layer video data; and set all of the multiple instances to a same value.

IMAGE RECOGNITION METHOD, VIDEO PLAYBACK METHOD, RELATED DEVICES
The disclosure provides an image recognition method and apparatus. The image recognition method may include obtaining a first frame image of which a frame type is known, and a second frame image and a third frame image of which frame types are unknown from an image frame sequence. The method may further include predicting a pixel sequence of the second frame image according to the first frame image and the third frame image. The method may further include calculating a pixel error according to a second pixel sequence of the second frame image and the predicted pixel sequence. The second pixel sequence includes pixel values of the pixels in the second frame image. The method may further include recognizing a frame type of the second frame image or the third frame image according to the pixel error.
SIGNAL ENCODING METHOD AND APPARATUS AND SIGNAL DECODING METHOD AND APPARATUS
A spectrum coding method includes quantizing spectral data of a current band based on a first quantization scheme, generating a lower bit of the current band using the spectral data and the quantized spectral data, quantizing a sequence of lower bits including the lower bit of the current band based on a second quantization scheme, and generating a bitstream based on a upper bit excluding N bits, where N is 1 or greater, from the quantized spectral data and the quantized sequence of lower bits.

Video encoding method and method for reducing file size of encoded video
A video encoding method comprises encoding a series of images of original video data into an encoded video stream comprising key frames and delta frames, wherein the delta frames are organized in a hierarchical prediction pattern comprising a plurality of temporal layers. The video encoding method further comprises adding to the encoded video stream a hidden delta frame for at least some of the key frames. Each hidden delta frame corresponds to a key frame, is based on same original video data as the corresponding key frame and is referring to a previous key frame in the encoded video stream. Also, a method of reducing a file size of the video stream encoded according to the video encoding method is disclosed.
Video management
The disclosure relates to a method of processing a sequence of image frames to reduce its length. One implementation may involve extracting coefficients (e.g., Discrete Cosine Transform coefficients) from components of individual frames, and comparing the resulting coefficients for sequential frames to identify frames having the least change from a prior frame. Also, scene change values for each frame may be calculated and placed in a sorted list to facilitate identification of frames for removal. Frame removal may be conducted in rounds, where a group of pictures (GOP) may only have one frame removed for any given round.
