Methods and systems are disclosed for providing video content in response to requests in a content delivery system with more speed and efficiency. In some aspects, network monitoring devices may gather content specific and network performance metrics, from user devices and content delivery components, to provide input to a computing device for deciding whether to store or delete different versions of the same or different items of content. The decision may be based on a policy which may include a weighted score based on a combination of usage and network efficiency scores. In other aspects, methods and systems are provided to initially provide to a user device a stored version of a content item, and then switch, as needed, to a different version of the content item using on-demand transcoding.
System and method for transcoding entropy-coded bitstreams
A system and method for transcoding an entropy-coded bitstream is presented herein. The syntax elements of the entropy-coded bitstream are decoded and transcoded into a second format. The second format can comprise a simpler format for decoding. The foregoing advantageously alleviates the processing requirements for the video decompression engine.

A video comparison method includes: obtaining a first video and a second video; obtaining a first image sequence from the first video, and obtaining a second image sequence from the second video; extracting a first definition feature vector of the first image sequence by using a first feature extraction mechanism of a video comparison model; extracting a second definition feature vector of the second image sequence by using a second feature extraction mechanism of the video comparison model, the first feature extraction mechanism being the same as the second feature extraction mechanism; and determining a definition difference between the first video and the second video based on the first definition feature vector and the second definition feature vector by using a definition difference analysis mechanism of the video comparison model.

A video data processing method is provided to a server. The method includes: obtaining a video sequence associated with a video source and obtaining a video quality standard parameter associated with the video sequence; determining a video feature according to video quality standard parameter; predicting an encoding bit rate according to the video quality standard parameter and the video feature; and encoding the video sequence according to the encoding bit rate to obtain an encoded video sequence associated with the video source.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for transcoding a video. An input attribute of a video is obtained and a target attribute is obtained. A segment transcoding speed of the video is determined based on the input attribute and the target attribute. The segment transcoding speed indicates a transcoding speed of a video segment. The number of video segments of the video is determined based on a preset target transcoding speed and the segment transcoding speed. The video is segmented based on a video length of the video and the number of video segments to obtain the video segments. The video segments are transcoded based on the segment transcoding speed.
METHOD FOR TRANSCODING VIDEO AND RELATED ELECTRONIC DEVICE
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for transcoding a video. An input attribute of a video is obtained and a target attribute is obtained. A segment transcoding speed of the video is determined based on the input attribute and the target attribute. The segment transcoding speed indicates a transcoding speed of a video segment. The number of video segments of the video is determined based on a preset target transcoding speed and the segment transcoding speed. The video is segmented based on a video length of the video and the number of video segments to obtain the video segments. The video segments are transcoded based on the segment transcoding speed.
