A data storage device and method for application-defined data retrieval in surveillance systems are provided. In one embodiment, a data storage device is provided comprising a memory and a controller. The controller is configured to store, in the memory, a stream that combines data from a plurality of receivers; receive a request from a host for data generated by a selected receiver; extract, from the stored stream, the data generated by the selected receiver; and send the extracted data to the host. Other embodiments are provided.

The image and its metadata can then be certified upon a check that the image and its metadata are authentic and unaltered. The image and its metadata can then be included in or as a part of an incident or other report describing an incident or event such as an accident or a crime. The image and/or incident report may be maintained at a cloud-based server for viewing, authorized editing, and subsequent distribution.

Methods and systems are provided for integrated channel and/or band stacking solutions. A plurality of signals may be received, such as via a signal receiver, with each of the received signals being different from remaining ones of the plurality signals. At least two received signals may be processed, such as via one or more processing circuits, and an output signal may be generated based on the processing of the at least two received signals. The output signal may include only one or more portions from each of the at least two signals, with the one or more portions being stacked within the output signal. The stacking of the one or more portions from the at least two signals may include applying channel equalization, with the channel equalization including equalizing power of a plurality of sub-components of a frequency band corresponding to the one or more portions.

Methods and systems are provided for integrated channel and/or band stacking solutions. Systems and methods are disclosed for handing off media content. A media player client receives a request to transfer a media stream, which is playing on a first media device, to a second media device. In response to determining that the second media device comprises a larger screen than the first media device, the media player content determines, based on the genre and resolution of the media stream data, whether the media stream data can be transferred, from the first media device to the second media device.
