Viewer-authored content acquisition and management system for in-the-moment broadcast in conjunction with media programs
A method, apparatus, and system for providing viewer-derived content for broadcast presentation in conjunction with a broadcast of a media program by a provider of the media program is disclosed. The disclosed system and method (1) simplifies the process for viewers to provide viewer-authored media to broadcasters, while minimizing the data transmission requirements between portable viewer devices and the broadcaster, (2) allows advance approval for the broadcasters to use that viewer-generated content to generate and disseminate viewer-authored-content and (3) provides for management of viewer-generated content (4) integrates with social networks that can be used to at least preliminarily assess the popularity and suitability of the viewer-generated content for broadcast to other viewers.

Systems and methods for generating time lapse videos
Video information may define spherical video content having a duration. Spherical video content may define visual content viewable from a point of view as a function of progress through the spherical video content. Path information may define a path selection for the spherical video content. Path selection may include movement of a viewing window within the spherical video content. The viewing window may define extents of the visual content viewable from the point of view as the function of progress through the spherical video content. Time lapse parameter information may define at least two of a time portion of the duration, an image sampling rate, and a time lapse speed effect. A time lapse video may be generated based on the video information, the path information, and the time lapse parameter information.

Method, apparatus and system for discovering and displaying information related to video content
Methods, apparatus and systems for processing and tagging at least a portion of a video with metadata are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method for processing and tagging at least a portion of a video with metadata includes extracting a plurality of frames from the video, generating a fingerprint for each frame of the plurality of frames, or for a set of frames of the plurality of frames, determining contextual data within at least one frame or set of frames, associating the generated fingerprint of each frame or set of frames with the determined contextual data, and storing the association of the fingerprint of each frame or set of frames and the contextual data.

Representing motion vectors in an encoded bitstream
A format for use in encoding moving image data, comprising: a sequence of frames including plurality of the frames in which at least a region is encoded using motion estimation; a respective set of motion vector values representing motion vectors of the motion estimation for each respective one of these frames or each respective one of one or more regions within each of such frames; and at least one respective indicator associated with each of the respective frames or regions, indicating whether the respective motion vector values of the respective frame or region are encoded at a first resolution or a second resolution.
Image display apparatus and operating method thereof
A method performed by a first image display apparatus includes: obtaining a 360-degree image; displaying, on a first display included in the first image display apparatus, a first image corresponding to a first area of the 360-degree image; controlling a second image display apparatus to display a second image corresponding to a second area of the 360-degree image, the second area being adjacent to the first area.

Method, an apparatus, a computer program for video coding
There are disclosed various methods, apparatuses and computer program products for video encoding. In some embodiments a method comprises including two or more entities into a container file, wherein each entity is a media item or a media track; and indicating in one of the following: the container file or a description of the container file; that the two or more entities are playable in the order they appear in the container file to achieve progressive refinement. In addition, a method, an apparatus and a computer program product for parsing information is provided.
