The system also includes an image processing resource. The system further includes control circuitry configured to perform operations that include obtaining, from the image sensor, a full-resolution image of an environment. The full-resolution image contains each respective ROI of the plurality of ROIs. The operations also include selecting a particular ROI based on the full-resolution image, and detecting an object of interest in the particular ROI. The operations include determining a mode of operation by which subsequent image data generated by the particular ROI is to be processed. The operations further include processing, based on the mode of operation and the frame rate, the image data comprising a plurality of ROI images of the object of interest.

VEHICLE MOUNTABLE CAMERA

A vehicle mountable camera is provided which includes an imaging device, an exposure controller, and an image processor. The imaging device is configured to be installed behind a windshield of a subject vehicle to capture an image of a forward view in front of the subject vehicle. The exposure controller controls the degree of exposure of the imaging device. The image processor executes an image processing operation on the captured image. The camera determines whether a brightness boundary exists in front of the subject vehicle and, when the brightness boundary is determined to exist, controls the exposure of the imaging device and/or adjustment of brightness of the image quickly when the subject vehicle passes the brightness boundary. This minimizes a risk that the captured image may be darkened or brightened suddenly immediately after the subject vehicle moves from a sunny area to a shaded area or vice versa.

Local exposure compensation

Image signal processing includes generating an exposure compensated image based on a gain value applied to an exposure level of a first image and a gain value applied to an exposure level of a second image. The gain value may be progressively increased from an approximate center of the first image to an edge of the first image to a common exposure level. The gain value may be progressively decreased from an approximate center of the second image to an edge of the second image to the common exposure level. Gain values may be scaled on each color channel for a pixel based on a saturation level of the pixel.

Provided are an image generation control device, an image generation control method, and an image generation control program that are capable of generating an image of an object to be imaged positioned in a vicinity of an imaging-hindering light source with high precision. In an image generation control device, based on luminance variation within a target area including the imaging-hindering light source and the object to be imaged, a calculation unit calculates an expected light-off period during which the imaging-hindering light source is turned off. An image-capturing control unit, by setting an exposure period of an image-capturing unit within the expected light-off period calculated by the calculation unit, makes the image-capturing unit capture an image including the target area within the expected light-off period.

The present invention provides a control method of an image reading device, an image reading device, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium having a program stored thereon, which avoid a reduction in reading resolution. The control method of the image reading device includes: a first step (ST101) of generating N line-shaped images indicating N line-shaped regions (W11) in an imaging target (T1) being conveyed in a conveying direction (X1) by imaging the N line-shaped regions (W11) extending in a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction (X1); a second step (ST102) of performing the same step as the first step (ST101) at a point in time when the imaging target (T1) is conveyed by an amount associated to a width (11a) of N−1 line-shaped regions; and a step (ST103) of generating a read image by arranging the N line-shaped images generated in each of the steps in ascending order.
