Interlaced 3D video
A video processing device (100) for processing 3D video is coupled to a 3D display device (120). The device receives the 3D video data according to a high resolution interlaced 3D format. A video processor (106) generates a 3D display signal according to a display format. 3D display capability data indicates at least one interlaced 3D display format accepted by the 3D display device, the interlaced 3D display format having a lower resolution than the high resolution interlaced 3D format. The device has a storage unit (21, 31) for storing the 3D display capability data and 3D conversion capability data. The 3D conversion capability data indicates a capability of the video processing device for interlaced down conversion for enabling a selection mechanism to control the processing of the 3D video information by selecting the interlaced 3D display format and the interlaced down conversion. Advantageously the user is provided with the best possible 3D view.
Stereoscopic format converter
A device and method for converting one stereoscopic format into another. A software-enabled matrix is used to set forth predefined relationships between one type of format as an input image and another type of format as an output image. The matrix can then be used as a look-up table that defines a correspondence between input pixels and output pixels for the desired format conversion.
System and method of detecting multiview file format
Systems and methods are directed to multiview format detection. A multiview image that comprises a plurality of tiled view images is accessed. A cross-correlation map from the multiview image may be generated by autocorrelating the multiview image with a shifted copy of the multiview image. The cross-correlation map may be sampled at a plurality of predefined locations of the cross-correlation map to identify a set of cross-correlation values. A multiview format of the multiview image may be detected by classifying a feature set of the multiview image that comprises the set of cross-correlation values. The multiview image may be configured to be rendered on a multiview display based on the multiview format.
