The portable computing device is configured to a) receive a metrological data set, the metrological data set substantially representing data associated with the physical asset at a point in time, b) process the metrological data set and an asset data model into a processed metrological data set, c) upon determining, based on the processed metrological data set, a metrological variance, recalibrating the asset data model and returning to step (a), and d) upon determining no metrological variance, reporting the metrological data set and the asset data model to at least one report recipient.

System and method for obtaining vehicle telematics data

A sensor tag which in use will be affixed to a vehicle for obtaining vehicle telematics data includes a battery for powering the tag and a processor running executable code to process accelerometer data. An accelerometer measures the acceleration of the tag and thereby of the vehicle, and also controls the operation of the processor. A memory is used for storing a unique tag identifier of the tag and for storing trip data including information about trips and acceleration data. Finally, a communication module is used for short range wireless communication with a mobile communications device located in the vehicle via a short range wireless communications protocol, the communication module transmitting the tag's unique identifier and a sequence of time stamped acceleration data. The mobile communications device obtains GPS data, combines this with the acceleration date and transmits this to a server for analysis.

The controller also determines a subset of the telemetry data that has changed by comparing the received telemetry data to previous telemetry data. The controller also communicates to the server only the subset of the telemetry data that has changed.

The local data collection system is configured to record gap-free digital waveform data simultaneously from at least the first input, the second input, the third input, and the fourth input. The platform is configured to determine a change in relative phase based on the simultaneously recorded gap-free digital waveform data. The second sensor is configured to be movable to a plurality of positions associated with the first machine while obtaining the simultaneously recorded gap-free digital waveform data.

The local data collection system is configured to obtain the simultaneously recorded gap-free digital waveform data from the first machine while the first machine and a second machine are both in operation. The local data collection system is configured to characterize a contribution from the first machine and the second machine in the simultaneously recorded gap-free digital waveform data from the first machine.
