TELEMETRY BASED ON HFC DISTRIBUTION NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE
Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate a gathering and transmission of monitoring data from a sensor module to a telemetry control center. One or more sensor modules may be attached or otherwise connected to one or more devices that are included within an HFC infrastructure. Each sensor module may include one or more sensors that capture monitoring signals. The sensor module may interface with a communication link that is associated with the device to which it is connected. The sensor module may process the captured monitoring signals and output the processed signals to a telemetry control center, the processed signals being output over a reverse signal path that is utilized by the device to which the sensor module is connected.
LOAD CENTER POSITION-BASED ADDRESSING
Embodiments of the disclosure provide for a system and method for determining a circuit breaker position in a power distribution/load center. In one embodiment, the load center includes a plurality of circuit breakers. Each circuit breaker includes a base and a plurality of contact components coupled to the base. In that regard, an activation of a combination of the contact components indicates a position of the circuit breaker within the load center. The activation of the combination indicates that one or more of the contact components is in contact with one or more pegs coupled to the load center. When this occurs, a data transceiver coupled to each of the contact components transmits a data signal. The data signal includes a plurality of data bits, where each data bit indicates whether a corresponding contact component of the combination is activated or not activated.
Thermal Monitoring System and Method
A thermal monitoring system includes: one or more thermal sensors configured to monitor the temperature of one or more portions of a fracking pump and generate one or more thermal indication signals; a processing system configured to receive the one or more thermal indication signals and associate the one or more thermal indication signals with one or more operating temperatures of the one or more portions of the fracking pump; and an indication system configured to provide a thermal condition indicator based, at least in part, upon the one or more operating temperatures of the one or more portions of the fracking pump.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STORAGE-EFFICIENT SENSORS
Provided are systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing storage-efficient sensors. A method can include: using a discovery service to determine one or more parameters associated with a storage device via a network over a medium; transmitting data from at least one sensor to a storage device via the network over the medium; processing the data and storing at least a portion of the data at the storage device; and transmitting at least a second portion of the data via the network to at least one host.
Power distribution network monitoring system and power distribution network monitoring device
A power distribution network monitoring system detects abnormalities that occur in a power distribution network using measuring instruments installed in the power distribution network. The power distribution network monitoring system includes a plurality of measuring instruments that are installed at predetermined positions on power lines on an upstream side of the downmost-stream power demander, among the power lines constituting the power distribution network and configured to perform electrical measurement of the power lines; and an abnormality detector configured to determine whether or not data related to the measurement result measured by the measuring instrument has been received a predetermined number of times within a predetermined length of time, and detect the abnormality.
System and method for distributed, secure, power grid data collection, consensual voting analysis, and situational awareness and anomaly detection
A system and method for data collection and aggregation using a distributed network of communications enabled sensors connected to another primary network to achieve a secondary out-of-band monitoring perspective, for example, in power grids. The data collection system includes an aggregation and processing server configured to collect data from a variety of sensors adjacent to the monitored network each sensor includes secondary power such that it can continue data transmission even during power grid outages. The data collection system includes a method for secure real-time data ingest, machine learning enabled analysis, risk assessment, and anomaly detection on a broad geographic scale irrespective of isolated network boundaries.
Remote wireless sensing apparatus
A sensor module assembly includes a sensor housing that houses a sensing element configured to sense a characteristic of a process and generate a sensor signal indicative of the characteristic. The sensor module assembly includes a wireless device housing that houses communication circuitry configured to receive the sensor signal and a wireless transmitter configured to send the sensor signal wirelessly to a remote device. The sensor module assembly also includes a communication cable that communicatively couples the sensing element in the sensor housing to the communication circuitry in the wireless device housing.
SENSOR NETWORK FOR SUBSURFACE IMPACT PROTECTION SYSTEM
A subsurface impact protection system for protecting an underground structure is provided. The protection system includes a subsurface polymer layer above the underground structure which is configured to absorb above-ground impact force from reaching the underground structure. A sensor network is embedded in the polymer layer. The sensor network includes a plurality of sensors configured to monitor the polymer layer by generating a corresponding plurality of sensor signals of conditions near the polymer layer and transmitting the generated sensor signals to one or more external receivers. In some embodiments, the polymer layer includes a protective mesh made up of a plurality of high density polyethylene (HDPE) strands in a woven pattern. In one such embodiment, the sensors occupy gaps in the protective mesh. A method of protecting an underground structure is also provided.

Systems and methods for distributed sensing of a powerline conductor
A system includes (1) a signal transmitter that includes (a) a radio frequency generator that generates a first radio frequency electromagnetic signal and (b) a first transducer that converts the first radio frequency electromagnetic signal to a surface wave mode signal imposed onto a powerline conductor at a first location in a first direction toward a second location along the powerline conductor, (2) a signal receiver that includes a second transducer located at the second location that converts the surface wave mode signal into a second radio frequency electromagnetic signal, and (3) an analysis subsystem that monitors a signal strength of the second radio frequency electromagnetic signal over time to determine whether a physical encroachment of the powerline conductor exists between the first location and the second location.
