Implementing and optimizing safety interventions

A network system provides interventions to providers to reduce the likelihood that its users will experience safety incidents. The providers provide service to the users such as transportation. Providers who are safe and have positive interpersonal behavior may be perceived by users as high quality providers. However, other providers may be more prone to cause safety incidents. A machine learning model is trained using features derived from service received by users of the network system. Randomized experiments and trained models predict the effectiveness of various interventions on a provider based on characteristics of the provider and the feedback received for the provider. As interventions are sent to providers, the change in feedback can indicate whether the intervention was effective. By providing messages proactively, the network system may prevent future safety incidents from occurring.

A base wireless device includes a selection unit configured to select either signal transmission or standby, and a transmission processing unit configured to perform a transmission process of transmitting a signal to at least one remote wireless device in a case that the selection unit selects the signal transmission, and to stand by without performing the transmission process in a case that the selection unit selects the standby. The selection unit selects either the signal transmission or the standby in a current transmission/reception period in accordance with a predetermined rule in a case that the signal transmission was selected in a previous transmission/reception period, and selects the signal transmission in the current transmission/reception period in a case that the standby was selected in the previous transmission/reception period.

Method for operating a gas concentration monitoring system, gas-measuring device, central unit, gas concentration monitoring system as well as computer program product

A method is provided for operating a gas concentration monitoring system as well as a gas-measuring device, a central unit, a gas concentration monitoring system as well as computer program product. The safety of persons or the safety of a situation is determined with respect to at least one hazardous gas. The concentration of the gas is provided to a memory and analysis device. A measured value rating number is determined for a preset period of use. A number of instances, of the measured concentration values exceeding of a preset gas concentration limit value is input. A safety code is determined from at least one of: the measured concentration values, the measured value rating numbers and from the a total number of instances in which a gas concentration limit value was exceeded.

Consumables monitoring system

A consumables monitoring system is in communication with computing means and has a dispenser assembly formed of a dispenser and a mounting unit. The mounting unit and dispenser are arranged such that a plurality of sensors in the mounting unit is able to measure the quantity of consumables in the dispenser, and the dispenser assembly communicates sensor data to the computing means, which thereby monitor the usage of the dispenser. The plurality of sensors have different sensitivities over a range of inputs, wherein system is configured to switch between the sensors depending on the value of the inputs detected. The fact that the mounting unit may engage multiple different types of otherwise stand-alone dispensers provides for a monitoring system that can be used in conjunction with any type of dispenser and consumable. The plurality of dispensers allows for optimum sensitivity across a broad range of dispenser fill levels.

Intra-uterine monitoring system

An intra-uterine monitoring system is described. The system comprises an implantable sensor device, shaped and dimensioned for implantation in a uterus for measuring conditions within the uterus to generate sensor data, and a wearable receiver device, for wirelessly receiving the sensor data generated by the implantable sensor device. In this way, real-time, in-vivo monitoring of the intra-uterine environment can be performed. The implantable sensor device can be kept small and simple, requiring only the mechanical and electronic structures necessary to take sensor measurements and transmit those to the receiver device. By making the receiver device wearable, it can be kept in relatively close proximity to the implantable sensor device on a long-term basis, making regular monitoring viable.
