Performing demand reset in a secure mobile network environment
Techniques are discussed for performing a demand reset in a wireless meter reading environment, in a manner such that demand data may not be lost. In response to receiving a command from a mobile device of a requester, a meter may store demand value(s) in a log, reset register(s) that store the demand value(s) and wirelessly provide the demand value(s) to the mobile device of the requester. Due to the lack of reliability associated with wireless communications between the meter and a requestor, the requestor may not actually receive the demand value(s). Upon receiving a subsequent command for the demand value(s), the meter may determine that the command is a replay, and provide the demand value(s) without resetting the register(s). Techniques are also discussed for generating the commands, securing the commands, and providing the commands to mobile devices in route packages.
Method and system for collecting data supplied by sensors
A method for collecting data delivered by sensors each containing a measurement element, which sensors are equipped for radio communication and include a device for storing and preparing measurement signals recorded by the respective measurement elements for the transmission of the signals, and an autonomous power source. The method includes the following steps: recording successive raw measurement data corresponding to time-stamped, elementary measurement units of at least one physical or physical-chemical variable or parameter delivered by the measurement element of a particular sensor; in each sensor concerned, storing the raw measurement data in the memory device of the sensor; transmitting the unprocessed raw measurement data in compressed form via a radio link; and collecting, storing and evaluating the raw measurement data transmitted from a multiplicity of sensors in a remote central processing facility.
AUDIENCE MONITORING SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
Audience monitoring systems and related methods are described herein. An example audience monitoring system includes a beacon to be disposed proximate a media presentation device. The beacon is to transmit a ping signal. The system also includes a portable metering device to be carried by a person. The portable metering device includes a microphone to receive an audio signal and a processor to determine a distance value indicative of a distance between the portable metering device and the beacon based on the ping signal.
Unidirectional field device data transfer
A field device includes a process communication module, a graphical display and a controller. The process communication module is configured to communicate in accordance with a process industry standard communication protocol. The controller is operably coupled to the process communication module and the graphical display and is configured to responsively cause the graphical display to generate a machine-readable display output.
System and method for transmitting electronic plumbing fixture data and health data to a user device for transmission over a network
An EPF digital record transmission system may be configured to transmit an EPF digital record from an EPF device to a user device. The user device may then transmit the EPF digital record to a host server for storage and processing. The EPF device may also be configured to transmit health data and the user device may be configured to analyze one or both of the health data and the EPF digital record and present a health recommendation.
REMOTE MONITORING OF ANALYTE MEASUREMENTS
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for remote monitoring. In some example implementations, there is provided a method. The method may include receiving, at a remote monitor, a notification message representative of an event detected, by a server, from analyte sensor data obtained from a receiver monitoring an analyte state of a host; presenting, at the remote monitor, the notification message to activate the remote monitor, wherein the remote monitor is configured by the server to receive the notification message to augment the receiver monitoring of the analyte state of the host; accessing, by the remote monitor, the server, in response to the presenting of the notification message; and receiving, in response to the accessing, information including at least the analyte sensor data. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.
STATUS MONITORING SYSTEM, MARINE VESSEL, AND STATUS MONITORING METHOD
A measuring device measures a status of a device to be monitored stored within a metal hull of a marine vessel. A first communication device is provided outside the hull and transmits a status signal indicating a measurement value of the status of the device to be monitored. A second communication device receives the status signal via the first communication device and outputs information pertaining to the status. The second communication device is configured to be portable.
System and method for obtaining vehicle telematics data
A sensor tag which in use will be affixed to a vehicle for obtaining vehicle telematics data includes a battery for powering the tag and a processor running executable code to process accelerometer data. An accelerometer measures the acceleration of the tag and thereby of the vehicle, and also controls the operation of the processor. A memory is used for storing a unique tag identifier of the tag and for storing trip data including information about trips and acceleration data. Finally, a communication module is used for short range wireless communication with a mobile communications device located in the vehicle via a short range wireless communications protocol, the communication module transmitting the tag's unique identifier and a sequence of time stamped acceleration data. The mobile communications device obtains GPS data, combines this with the acceleration date and transmits this to a server for analysis.
INTELLIGENT PORTABLE MEDICAL INSTRUMENT
An intelligent portable medical instrument has an information processing unit and a data storage unit which are connected to a measurement and human body data collection unit. The measurement and human body data collection unit measures electrical, chemical, and acoustic data and sends the data to the information processing unit. The information processing unit compares the measured human physiological index data with the standard ranges of values and makes a preliminary health diagnosis opinion. The preliminary health diagnosis opinion and the measured data are transmitted to an in vitro unit which preferably uploads the information to a cloud server. The in vivo portion of the intelligent portable medical instrument is provided by a single integrated circuit.
Wildfire and Public Safety Event Detection Systems and Methods
A fire mitigation and/or public safety event detection device has a housing having a cavity and a plurality of varying sensors coupled within the cavity of the housing, and/or coupled to, or somehow connected or interfaced with the housing. The device and/or system further has a processor configured to determine, based upon outputs from the sensors, whether there is a fire/wildfire event or a public safety event or associated conditions. The processor is further configured to transmit data indicative of the sensors and alerts related to the fire event and/or the public safety event and/or associated conditions to one or more computing device(s) of utility personnel, authorized third parties, and/or first responders. An aggregated deployment of such fire mitigation and public safety event detection devices serves to create a web or network, thereby serving as a watchdog system within the associated deployment area(s).
