Method for reading fluid meters
The automated remote reading of fluid meters implemented in a system includes fluid meters, each measuring a consumption of fluids, and at least one gateway. Each gateway can exchange frames in accordance with a wireless communication standard with a plurality of meters via a first communication network, and to communicate with a management entity responsible for processing, in a centralised manner, information representing a consumption of fluids, referred to as readings, coming from meters via a second network. The method comprises for each gateway: defining meter reading periods for a set of meters paired with said gateway, the gateway being on standby outside each period and awake during each period; successively interrogating each meter in said set during each period in order to obtain a reading, each meter waking up at the start time of each period and going on standby as soon as it has transmitted a reading.
Electrical Phase Computation Using RF Media
A method includes computing electrical phase of electrical metering devices including obtaining data indicating zero-crossing times at first and second metering devices. A time difference between the zero-crossing times may be determined. In a first example, the time difference may be based at least in part on calculations involving a first value of a first free-run timer on a first metering device, a second value of a second free-run timer on a second metering device, the time of reception of a packet, and a latency defined by a time taken for the packet to propagate through at least one layer of at least one of the first metering device and the second metering device. A phase difference between the first zero-crossing and the second zero-crossing may be determined, based at least in part on the determined time difference.
SCALABLE SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR MONITORING AND CONTROLLING A SANITARY FACILITY USING DISTRIBUTED CONNECTED DEVICES
A system to control and to monitor the entirety of a sanitary facility by using various specialized connected devices that are distributed throughout the sanitary facility, communicating with one another and over the internet network. Each one of these connected devices carries out its function or functions by using the information communicated by the other connected devices. Each one of these connected devices carries out its function or some of its functions independently in the event of a breakdown in the communication with the other connected devices. From the mobile or fixed apparatuses such as a Smartphone, touchscreen tablet, computer, server, etc. that are connected to the Internet, the user or users can interact with the connected devices, can be alerted in real time to malfunctions, and can receive information regarding the condition of the sanitary facility.
Modification of a sensor data management system to enable sensors as a service
A modification of a sensor data management system to enable discrete sensor applications. A sensor data control system enables discrete sensor applications to control the configuration, collection, processing, and distribution of sensor data produced by selected sensors at various monitored locations. The sensor service offered by the sensor data control system can be leveraged by any sensor application having an interest in any part of one or more monitored locations.
Power management message bus system
A message bus is utilized for energy management/control. The publish/subscribe message bus present between site gateways, a central server farm, and other entities, facilitates exchange of messages pertaining to management and control of power generation and/or storage. On-site publishers/subscribers can include, e.g., PV inverters, battery devices, energy meters, etc. Non-site specific publishers/subscribers can include, e.g., web clients, database servers (for logging), and various server components of the message bus. Messages exchanged between publishers and subscribers can include control messages (e.g., begin charging battery X) and measurement messages (e.g., the current charge of battery X is Y). Embodiments may implement logic at a site gateway prioritizing transmission of messages to local site devices. Thus where a gateway cannot simultaneously transmit device control messages and device data acquisition messages (e.g., due to processing burden or congestion), site gateway logic can prioritize transmission of the control messages over the locally-generated data acquisition requests.
ENHANCED METER MANAGEMENT SOLUTION
A method includes receiving, from a first head end system (HES), a first raw file including a first set of events in a first HES specific format, and modifying the first set of events in the first raw file by a first HES adapter to create a first unified formatted file. The first unified formatted file is in a unified format, and the first HES adapter is connected to the first HES. The method further include transforming, by a core HES adapter, the first unified formatted file to a first data management formatted file according to a data management format, and consuming the first data management formatted file.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A COUNTER DEVICE FOR A FLUID, COUNTER DEVICE AND COUNTER SYSTEM
A method operates a counter device for a fluid which can be connected via a connecting device to a meter point having at least one line through which the fluid flows. A control device is configured when connected via at least one operating parameter specific for the meter point and/or a meter point environment. When the counter device is taken into operation, the operating parameters are called up by a communication device on the counter device side communicating wirelessly by radio via a communication link with a passive communication device on the meter point side. The operating parameters are stored in a storage device of the passive communication device.
POWER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, RELAY APPARATUS, AND POWER MANAGEMENT METHOD
A relay apparatus 400 performs control to measure a first signal quality of a radio signal from a smart meter 300 and present the first signal quality to a user. The relay apparatus 400 establishes a radio connection with the smart meter 300 having a radio communication function. The relay apparatus 400 relays communication between the smart meter 300 and the power management apparatus 200.
Method and apparatus for detection and alert of energy resource outages
A system that detects energy resource outages includes: resource monitors, each disposed within radio range of resource meters that transmit corresponding radio signals indicative of meter identifiers and current readings, where the resource monitors are configured to receive and decode the radio signals to obtain one or more of the meter identifiers and current readings, and where the each of the resource monitors transmits the one or more of the meter identifiers and current readings over the internet cloud; and a resource server, operatively coupled to the resource monitors via the internet cloud, configured to receive the one or more meter identifiers and current readings from the resource monitors, and configured to employ the current readings to detect an outage within a geographic area, and configured to send alerts to a resource provider that correspond to the outage.
VIRTUAL FUNCTIONAL MODULES FOR MEASURING DEVICES AND EQUIPMENT COMPONENTS
A system for detecting, analyzing and manipulating devices, wherein a virtual graphics component displays an operating state of the device and is integrated in a moving image of the device as a complete image, and wherein the complete image is updated at regular time intervals.
