Computer-aided dispatch systems and methods utilizing biometrics to assess responder condition and suitability
A Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system is specially configured to account for the physical condition of emergency personnel, which can affect their ability to effectively handle a particular incident. The CAD system tracks health, stress, and biometric status of each available emergency responder automatically and in real-time based on a wide range of collected information and to assess the suitability of available emergency responders to respond to a given emergency incident based upon such status information. Based on such status information, the CAD system can make intelligent recommendations to the emergency dispatcher by taking into account such things as the emergency responder's past experiences with a particular type of emergency incident, the current and cumulative status of the emergency responder, and projections as to the future condition of the emergency responder if dispatched to handle the emergency incident.

SENSING SYSTEM, SENSING METHOD, AND CONCENTRATOR
A sensing system includes: a wireless sensor terminal that includes a sensor, a processor, and a memory; and a concentrator that includes a processor and a memory and is connected to the wireless sensor terminal. In the sensing system, the wireless sensor terminal includes a first signal processing unit that processes sensor data measured by the sensor, and a first wireless communication unit that transmits the data output by the first signal processing unit. The concentrator includes a second wireless communication unit that communicates with the first wireless communication unit, and a second signal processing unit that calculates a feature quantity based on the data received from the wireless sensor terminal, determines a principal component according to the feature quantity by a principal component analysis, and generates a principal component list corresponding to the principal component.
Mobile device and chassis with contactless tags to diagnose hardware and software faults
Diagnosing faults in a hardware appliance. Information is read by a hand-held reader from one or more contactless tags associated with one or more components in a hardware appliance. One or more component faults and/or issues are identified based on the read information. A query is formed based on the identified one or more component faults and/or issues. A diagnostic database in the hand-held reader is queried, based on the formed query, and one or more query results are displayed in a ranked order on a display of the hand-held reader. In one aspect of the embodiments, the information read from the one or more contactless tags includes a pointer to a datastore in one of the one or more components. An ad hoc wireless network connection is established with the hardware appliance, and information in the datastore is downloaded over the connection.
System and method for monitoring water level on a roof
A drain monitor, a system, and a method monitor water level on a roof. The drain monitor includes a base for attaching to the roof, a riser attached to the base and projecting from the roof, a water level sensor attached to the riser for measuring water level on the roof, and a communication system positioned on the riser for transmitting measurement data received from the water level sensor.
Computerised platform for monitoring the operation of an electric power distribution grid
A computerized platform for monitoring the operation of an electric power distribution grid which includes in one form an accessory device operatively coupled with or comprised in an electronic protection relay of said electric power distribution grid, wherein said accessory device is configured to gather grid data and to transmit said grid data through the Internet; a publishing computerized unit capable of communicating with said accessory device through the Internet, said publishing computerized unit being configured to interact with said accessory device to acquire and store said grid data; an interface computerized unit capable of communicating with said accessory device and said publishing computerized unit through the Internet, said interface computerized unit being configured to provide interface services to manage the interaction of said accessory device with said publishing computerized unit.
PROFILES FOR COLLECTING TELEMETRY DATA
An apparatus includes telemetry registers, a memory, and a virtualized telemetry controller. The memory may store a set of telemetry profiles, including a first telemetry profile specifying a collection trigger, a set of telemetry registers, and a telemetry data destination. The virtualized telemetry controller may be to: detect a condition satisfying the collection trigger specified in the first telemetry profile; in response to a detection of the condition, read telemetry values from the set of telemetry registers specified in the first telemetry profile; generate a telemetry container including the telemetry values; and send the telemetry container to the telemetry data destination specified in the first telemetry profile.
Apparatus and Methods for Remotely Monitoring Water Utilization
An apparatus and method for remotely monitoring water usage in real time utilizes a sensor attached to a water meter. The sensor monitors water flowing through the meter by analyzing the water meter's magnetic coupling and processes the data to correlate it to real time flow rates. Data is transmitted through a base unit to remote storage and consumers may access the data with application software installed on electronics such as smartphones and tablets. Four components are combined to allow the real time monitoring of water utilization.
SENSOR NETWORK SYSTEM, SENSING MODULE, SERVER, AND ASSOCIATION METHOD
A generating module generates a signal including a set pattern that includes a specific pattern by varying a physical quantity. A sensing module including a sensor transmits to a server, pattern detection information generated in response to the sensor detecting the specific pattern and sensor identification information identifying the sensor that has detected the specific pattern. The server stores association information associating the sensor identification information received from the sensing module that has transmitted the pattern detection information with installation target information communicated from the generating module that has generated the specific pattern.
