A configured mode of operation of a wireless sensor network can be established through a dynamic remote configuration process. The plug-and-play universal sensor interface enables the monitoring capabilities of the wireless sensor network to scale seamlessly with the dynamic nature of changing sensor application objectives. A system status module enables a user to view the sensor service to confirm the current configuration of the wireless sensor network.

System and method for outputting filter monitoring system information via telematics

A filter monitoring system and method are described. The filter monitoring system includes a module or circuit installed on an internal combustion engine or within a vehicle powered by the internal combustion engine. The filter monitoring system monitors the operation of the various filtration systems present on the engine to determine an amount of service life remaining and a loading percentage for various filter cartridges installed in the filtration systems of the internal combustion engine. The filter monitoring system determines the loading percentage and predicts remaining service life of a given filter cartridge via a time-based manner (e.g., based on the installation date of the filter cartridge and filter cartridge life specifications) and a pressure differential based manner (e.g., based on a determination of pressure drop across the filter cartridge).

Apparatus and methods for remotely monitoring water utilization

An apparatus and method for remotely monitoring water usage in real time utilizes a sensor attached to a water meter. The sensor monitors water flowing through the meter by analyzing the water meter's magnetic coupling and processes the data to correlate it to real time flow rates. Data is transmitted through a base unit to remote storage and consumers may access the data with application software installed on electronics such as smartphones and tablets. Four components are combined to allow the real time monitoring of water utilization.

A wireless sensor includes an antenna, a sensing integrated circuit (IC), and a power supply impedance altering element. The antenna is operable to receive an inbound radio frequency (RF) signal and to transmit an outbound RF signal. The sensing IC includes a power supply, a first power supply connection, and a second power supply connection. The power supply impedance altering element is coupled to the first and second power supply connections and is coupled to sense a condition of an item. The sensing IC is operable to detect an impedance change of the power supply based on an effect of the power supply impedance altering element. The sensing IC is further operable to convert the impedance change into a digital value that represents the condition of the item. The sensing IC is further operable to output, via the antenna, the digital value or a representation of the condition.

Water meter transmitter housing

A submetering meter housing is sized and shaped to receive and mount a transmitter circuit board in an integrated fashion to the meter to provide electronic meter monitoring of the submetering meter. The submetering meter housing includes a switch circuit board with a counter reed switch that is connected to the count input of the transmitter circuit board, and positioned to open and close in response to the rotation of a permanent magnet included within the meter, and a tamper reed switch that is connected to the tamper input of the transmitter circuit board, and positioned to close in response to the presence of a permanent magnet included in the meter lens, so that disassembly of the submetering meter which separates the tamper reed switch from the meter lens causes a tamper signal to be transmitted by the transmitter circuit board.

Network management systems and methods are provided. A system is provided that includes an event database that provides a mapping of multimodal sensor data to events of devices coupled to a network, such as operational or behavioral events. A network management engine obtains a set of multimodal sensor data relating to a device, which may include sensor measurement or output data relating to each of multiple device operation or behavior parameters. The engine determines, utilizing the mapping, a match of the set of multimodal sensor data to a specific event associated with the device. Based at least in part on the determined match, the engine causes generation or updating of event data associated with the specific event, the data being accessible by network management software of the network management system.
