Dividing tagged items into subsets
A method and system for dividing a set of tagged items into subsets. Each tagged item is tagged with a passive RFID tag. A RFID reader is instructed to poll the RFID tags of all tagged items in a specified region having fixed boundaries to generate information including, for each tagged item, a spatial location of each tagged item and a list of all other tagged items in the region which are adjacent to each tagged item. The region is split into non-overlapping subregions. For each subregion, a central tagged item having more adjacent tagged items in each subregion than any other tagged item in each subregion is determined, utilizing the generated information. A virtual boundary is outlined around the central tagged item to enclose the central tagged item and a portion of the tagged items in each subregion which are adjacent to the central tagged item.
Methods and apparatus for identifying and categorizing distributed devices
Systems for identifying and categorizing distributed devices, e.g., lighting fixtures and thermostats, is disclosed. In an embodiment, a user (200) sends a low power discovery message to devices (201) using a portable programming tool (100). The devices (201) within range respond with identification information. The portable programming tool (100) organizes the responses by proximity and sends a flash message to the device with the closest perceived proximity. That device responds with a visual or audible signal (202), allowing the user (200) to determine whether that device is the one intended for selection. If so, the user initiates a store routine in which identification information, including category information, is stored in one or more locations, such as, the selected device (201), the portable programming tool (100), and/or a central or local controller (1100). The identification and categorization can, for example, be used to automate load shedding and to reduce energy consumption.
NANO RFID method and device
A nano RFID device or tag and method for using same is disclosed. The nano RFID device may be less than about 150 nanometers in size. The nano RFID device may be a passive, active or semi-passive nano RFID device. The nano RFID device may be included into other items or products such as being woven into a fabric, for example. The nano RFID device may include nano antennae that may comprise one or more carbon tubes. The nano RFID device may include a nano battery.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO DETERMINE MOTION PARAMETERS USING RFID TAGS
Systems and methods to determine motion parameters of physical objects using radio frequency identification (RFID) tags attached to the objects. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a radio frequency identification (RFID) system includes determining a motion parameter of the RFID tag based on detecting a Doppler frequency shift in a radio frequency signal received from the RFID tag.
Transportation route management
Monitoring systems in accordance with the disclosure store one or more reporting behavior profiles that include parameters that determine when a monitoring device associated with a shipping container initiates transmission of a status message to a remote location, e.g., an operations center, a government interface, or a commercial interface. At least a portion of the parameters of the reporting behavior profiles are dependent on a location of the monitoring system. The reporting behavior profiles can cause the monitoring device to initiate a message based on many conditions. For example, the report conditions can include when the present location deviates from a predetermined route of the reporting behavior profile, when the present location of the container remains unchanged for a certain time, when a security condition of the container changes, when an environmental condition of the container changes, etc.
Securing content using a wireless authentication factor
A mobile device is described that stores and renders content. Access to certain content is predicated at least upon receiving a particular wireless signal from an external or separate device that has previously been associated with the mobile device or with content stored on the mobile device.
METHODS, COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS, AND SYSTEMS FOR PROVIDING AUTOMATED VIDEO TRACKING VIA RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION
Methods, computer program products and systems for providing video tracking. The method includes receiving a first signal from a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag. A location of the RFID tag is determined in response to the first signal. An image that includes the location of the RFID tag is recorded. The location of the RFID tag is marked on the image, resulting in a marked image.
E-MAIL RELAY DEVICE, E-MAIL RELAY METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM
Provided is an e-mail relay device including: an e-mail receiving unit that acquires an e-mail to be delivered before the e-mail reaches a transmission destination, the e-mail being transmitted from a transmission source mailer through simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP); a request notification unit that transmits, after the e-mail receiving unit acquires the e-mail to be delivered, a notification e-mail for allowing communication with a predetermined authentication server through IP by using a transmission source e-mail address of the e-mail to be delivered as a destination; a transmission source IP address acquisition unit that acquires, in a case where the transmission source terminal communicates with the predetermined authentication server after the notification e-mail is transmitted, an IP address of a transmission source terminal contained in an IP header of an IP packet transmitted/received during the communication; and a determination unit that determines the reliability of the e-mail to be delivered based on the IP address of the transmission source terminal.
Sensor for absorbent article
An absorbent structure, including a sensor system, can sense and measure the level of wetness contained within the absorbent structure as well as sense and measure environmental conditions. The sensor system may include passive RFID sensors or tags, RFID readers, antenna, a tuning module, a processing module, a memory module and a wireless communication module. The absorbent structure may further include two or more sensors, with a first sensor placed in a first area most likely to first be exposed to liquid and a second sensor spaced apart from the first sensor in an area likely to be exposed to liquid only after the absorbent structure has become more saturated.
Hand-held electronics device for aggregation of and management of personal electronic data
A hand-held electronics device for aggregation of and management of personal electronic data useable for identification and, or transacting business includes a digital medium for storing data and software, a card reading/writing interface, a display screen, a biometric scanner, a user interface application stored on and executable from the digital medium and a docking bay for docking a readable and rewriteable internal card blank.
