METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSFERRING PRESSURE DURING EXPRESSION OF HUMAN BREAST MILK
A device for expression and collection of breast milk includes an actuatable assembly and a breast interface. The breast interface is sized to receive a breast and form a fluid tight seal against the breast. The breast interface includes an expandable membrane disposed within at least a portion of the breast interface. The expandable membrane reversibly deforms in response to actuation of the actuatable assembly, thereby applying vacuum pressure at the breast to express milk. The expandable membrane comprises a plurality of expandable pleats which extend radially outward from a central longitudinal axis of the breast interface.
HANDS-FREE MILK EXTRACTION AND COLLECTION DEVICE
A hands-free milk extraction and collection device including a milk collection container and a housing unit. The milk collection container includes an internal cavity having a first section for receiving a nipple region of a woman's breast and having a second section for collecting milk extracted from the woman's breast. The housing unit is configured to latch onto the nipple region of the woman's breast to aid in stimulating milk flow from the breast by creating suction pressure at the nipple region. The housing unit having a shape contoured to a woman's breast and including a center opening for enclosing the milk collection container, wherein the housing unit and the enclosed milk collection container are collectively configured to fit inside a woman's bra for hands-free usage.
Breast shield arrangement for breast pump, breast pump and method of operation
The present invention relates to a breast shield arrangement (1) for a breast pump (2) comprising: a breast shield (3) for receiving a user's breast therein, and a sensor (4) for transmitting an input signal into the breast and receiving a corresponding reception signal in response, said reception signal indicating changes in milk flow in the breast.
Breast pump assembly with breast adapter
Systems and methods for pumping milk from a breast, wherein the milk is expressed from the breast under suction and milk is expulsed from the pumping mechanism to a collection container under positive pressure. In one approach, the breast pump assembly includes a breast adapter and a receptacle configured to cup the breast adapter, and the breast adapter is removable from the receptacle.
Apparatus and methods for universal breast pump kit
Apparatus and methods for efficient expression of breast milk is provided. The device comprises a horn having a funnel for receiving a breast and a tube extending downwards from the funnel and removably connected to a first end of a main body. The main body has a stem extending downwards from a second end. The horn portion of the device can vary in size depending on the user need to accommodate varying sizes. A flexible cylindrical diaphragm and a valve is provided and are configured to engage and create a sealing between the lower portion of the main body and a container for receiving the breast milk. The use of the cylindrical diaphragm creates minor stress points along the surface of the diaphragm, thereby making it difficult to tear or damage during repeated operation and cleaning. The device further comprises a cap having a port in communication with a pressure source and configured to engage with a container for receiving breast milk, the container further configured to removably connect with the lower second end of the main body. During the milking operation, a negative pressure from the pressure source is communicated through the port to the device in order to create a suction on the funnel for extracting the milk from the breast. In response to the negative pressure, the diaphragm moves from a first state to a second distended state and the valve circumferentially engages and seals around the stem of the main body to provide an airtight seal during the milking operation. Once the negative pressure is released the diaphragm returns back to the first state allowing the milk to freely flow from the horn, through the main body and into the container.
BREAST PUMP
A breast pump comprising: a container comprising a deformable body and a lid, the container further comprising an inlet and a vent, wherein the vent is provided with a vent valve which is configured to allow air flow out of the container through the vent but not into the container through the vent; a nipple shield for receiving milk expressed from a user's breast; and a flexible conduit fluidly connecting the nipple shield and the inlet of the deformable container, wherein, in use, milk expressed from the breast flows from the nipple shield through the conduit to the container.
Systems and methods for expression of breast milk
Disclosed herein are improved devices, systems, and methods for the expression and collection of breast milk, such as human breast milk. A breast shield assembly for expression of breast milk may comprise a breast interface and an actuatable assembly interface fluidly coupled with a tube, wherein the breast interface is configured to engage the breast and the actuatable assembly interface is configured to removably couple to an actuatable assembly. The breast shield assembly may comprise an enclosed fluid reservoir extending between the breast interface and the actuatable assembly interface, the fluid reservoir physically separated from the expressed breast milk and filled with a driving fluid comprising a liquid. The breast shield assembly may further comprise a fill port configured to allow addition or removal of the driving fluid to or from the fluid reservoir.
Physiological simulator integral of shield for breast pump
The combination of a breast pump shield, with its ring, applied to the flange lower end of the shield, and the ring being C shaped in cross-section, having an upper flange, a lower flange, both integrally structured with a base wall. The physiological stimulator integrally formed with the lower flange of the sealing ring extends inwardly and upwardly within the shield, and therein functions as a means to place pressure upon the breast of the mother to help induce and stimulate the flow of breast milk during usage of the associated breast pump.
Breast pump system and methods
Systems and methods for pumping milk from a breast, wherein the milk is expressed from the breast under suction and milk is expulsed from the pumping mechanism to a collection container under positive pressure.
MANUAL BREAST PUMP
[Problem] To provide a manual breast pump in which a muscle load due to a repeated operation of a handle can be reduced, and in which a section contacting breast milk can be cleaned easily.
[Solution] A manual breast pump includes a main body casing 31, a hood 4, a base part 32 which is held by the main body casing 31 and has a communicating part S4 connected spatially to an inner space S3, a diaphragm generating a negative pressure in the communicating part S4, a holding member 33 which is provided at the base part 32 and includes a wall part sandwiched between the main body casing 31 and the base part 32, and a handle 5 which is provided to be rotatable with respect to the main body casing 31 with an axis 325 of the base part 32 as the center, and is for an operation of deforming the diaphragm 34. When the handle 5 rotates with respect to the main body casing 31 with the axis 325 of the base part 32 as the center, the base part 32 rotates with the handle 5 with respect to the main body casing 31 with the holding member 33 interposed.
