A wearable passive suction-based milk collection device comprises a compressible milk pouch with a nipple hole or opening in a rear face of the compressible milk pouch. The rear face of the compressible milk pouch is configured to seal against at least part of the user's breast when the pouch is compressed by a user in order to create a negative air pressure inside the pouch, providing suction onto the nipple thereby drawing milk from the nipple for collection in the milk pouch. The device is shaped, at least in part, to fit inside a bra.

The invention provides a breast pump system having a belt for wearing by the user of the system. The belt has a pocket for receiving a pump of the system. The pocket has a lateral pocket opening, with a conduit extending from the pump laterally out of the pocket opening. This makes a more comfortable fitting of the pump and easier connection to the expression kit.

A hands-free milk extraction and collection device including a combined milk extraction and collection container and a housing unit. The container includes an internal cavity having an extraction portion for receiving a nipple region of a woman's breast and having a collection portion for collecting milk extracted from the woman's breast. The extraction portion is configured to latch onto the nipple region of the woman's breast to aid in stimulating milk flow from the breast by creating suction pressure at the nipple region. Apparatus are described herein for providing a garment (e.g. a bra) that can be used by a wearer during extraction of breast milk using a breast pump, and/or during breast feeding. In some embodiments, a garment can include a support strap having an adjustable portion, a shoulder strap, and a back panel. The support strap can be coupled to the shoulder strap via an engagement mechanism. The adjustable portion of the support strap can be configured to be adjusted relative to the engagement mechanism to change a length of the support strap between the engagement mechanism and the back panel so that the support strap can be disposed over a flange of a breast pump to hold the flange against the breast of a user. An outer panel can be coupled to the back panel and the engagement mechanism. In another embodiment, an inner panel can be removably coupled to the inner panel and the engagement mechanism.
