DEVICE AND METHOD FOR HANDLING HUMAN BREAST MILK

A device for collecting human breast milk is provided. The device may include at least one evacuated container capable of connecting to at least one first container that is configured to receive expressed human breast milk. The at least one evacuated container mat be connected to the least one first container by a flow unit permitting communication of human breast milk from the first container to the evacuated container. Further provided are methods of collecting breast milk.

NIPPLE SHIELD WITH PORT AND FLAP-COVERED CHANNEL TO SUPPLEMENT LACTATION DURING BREASTFEEDING

Nipple shields can be used by breastfeeding mothers to facilitate the feeding process. The disclosed embodiments relate to nipple shields with a port through which liquid supplement can flow from a supply tube into an interior section of the shield. The liquid supplement can be drawn through ports in a tip of the shield in order to augment a naturally expressed flow of milk. A flap of material is bonded to an interior portion of the nipple shield over an optional channel formed in the interior portion so as to form a closed, flap-covered channel leading from an input port on a lower portion of the shield to a an interior location near the tip of the shield.

A simulative breastfeeding device is provided. The device is comprised of an upper body-worn garment. The garment has an interior pocket that receives at least one reservoir. The reservoir is shaped like a breast and is comprised of an areola and a nipple. During use, the reservoir can be filled with breast milk and/or infant formula and placed into the interior pocket such that the areola and nipple extend outwards from an opening in the garment. Therefore, a user can wear the garment and breastfeed an infant (in a simulated manner) via the reservoir and nipple.

A lactation assembly for improved functionality integrates breast milk expression, storage, feeding, and cleaning within a modular system. The assembly includes an assembly head with a touch screen, suction pump, and connectors, a milking module with a temperature-controlled milk container, a cleaning module for hygienic maintenance, a breast interface assembly for milk expression, and an oral interface assembly for feeding. Modular components connect via magnetic couplings and guide members for secure alignment. The system enables simultaneous or independent operation of expression and feeding, with transparent milk pathways for monitoring. Data on milk production, consumption, and temperature is stored and analyzed to recommend optimal expression and feeding times and ensure appropriate milk temperature. The portable, ergonomic design enhances user convenience while preserving milk quality and hygiene.
