A novel pillow with a detachable hood comprising a drawstring for providing comfort, privacy, sound dampening, and protection to a user. The pillow comprises an arcuate bladder and upper half hood which may be hemispherical or semi-hemispherical. The pillow may be inflatable or stuffed.

A sun hat having a bendable and shapeable brim is described. The bendable brim is characterized by a wire cable assembly secured in the brim of the hat along its perimeter. The wire cable assembly can comprise a loop of multi-strand metal cable enclosed in a slightly oversized flexible plastic sheath that is hermetically sealed at joining ends. The cable can be comprised of an annealed metal that permits it to be bent thousands of times without breaking.

A ballistic garment includes a fabric cap and a plurality of flexible ballistic panels. Each of the plurality of flexible ballistic panels has a bottom edge and an acutely pointed head that is spaced from the bottom head. The acutely pointed head of each of the plurality of flexible ballistic panels is positioned adjacent a top portion of the fabric cap. The information portal includes an input device, a human interface device, and a content providing system. The content providing system has non-transitory computer memory with a program with instructions for receiving information from the input device, and relaying the information to the human interface device. A ballistic garment includes a fabric cap and a plurality of flexible ballistic panels. Each of the plurality of flexible ballistic panels has a bottom edge and an acutely pointed head that is spaced from the bottom head. An expandable headband includes an elongated, pleated-fabric cover having two opposing ends, a front edge and a rear edge. To form a sun visor, a wearer pulls an extendable support rod at the front edge to expand the cover beyond the forehead.

A swim cap for persons having long hair includes a shell preferably having at least two interconnected compartments for receiving and encapsulating the hair of a user. The swim cap is secured around the head of a user by at least one draw string or adjustable band positioned within a channel near the open end of the swim cap as well as a chin strap extending downwardly from the cap. The interconnected compartments can be inflated to provide buoyancy. The shell further includes an outer layer and an inner layer defining a space therebetween that can also be inflated, or comprised of buoyant material, to provide buoyancy. A pump, compressed air canister or manual filler tube in communication with the interconnected compartments or space within the shell can be used to provide inflation. A pair of ear flaps extends downwardly from the swim cap around a user's head.
