BREAST PUMP ARRANGEMENT
A breast pump arrangement having an expression kit with a milk flow sensor (200) is provided. The milk flow sensor (200) comprises a container (240) with a first end with a first opening (242) and a second end with a second opening (243). The second opening (243) allows an outflow of milk with a predefined outflow characteristics out of the container (241). The first opening (242) is larger than the second opening (243). A milk amount sensor (250) is provided to measure a height or volume of milk in the container. A calculating unit (260, 240) calculates a milk flow based on the height or volume measurements and the predefined outflow characteristic of the second opening (243).

Examples disclosed herein are relevant to breast pumps. Disclosed examples include breast pumps that automatically adjust various pumping parameters based on data obtained from one or more sensors. The one or more sensors can produce data regarding an amount of milk expressed by a user. The adjusting of the pumping parameters can be configured to, for example, help the user efficiently express milk by utilizing a closed-feedback system that monitors the flow rate of the expressed milk.
BREAST PUMP DEVICE AND CONTROLLER FOR THE DEVICE, AND A CONTROL METHOD
A breast pump device is provided, and a controller for operating a pressure source of the breast pump device. A degree of stretching of the nipple is determined during use of the breast pump device. A maximum under-pressure level to be applied during use of the breast pump is determined in dependence on the degree of stretching. This provides automatic pressure level adjustment to provide improved comfort for the user while enabling successful milk expression.
BREASTPUMP WITH FUNCTIONAL VACUUM PULSES
A method and system for enhancing expression of milk from breast alveoli includes providing a pump that delivers a pulsed vacuum. The pulsed vacuum may be delivered by a vacuum pump employing a rigid piston that operates as a multi-stroke accumulator pump. In an embodiment, a piston head of the rigid piston undergoes a non-linear motion relative to a sidewall of a cylinder of the pump, resulting in an oscillatory impulse on the interior of the vacuum chamber in the cylinder. The vacuum pulse frequency of the pump is applied over a cyclical vacuum frequency that would otherwise be applied had the piston head only moved up and down while maintaining a perpendicular relationship to the sidewall of the cylinder.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSFERRING PRESSURE DURING EXPRESSION OF HUMAN BREAST MILK
A device for expression and collection of breast milk includes an actuatable assembly and a breast interface. The breast interface is sized to receive a breast and form a fluid tight seal against the breast. The breast interface includes an expandable membrane disposed within at least a portion of the breast interface. The expandable membrane reversibly deforms in response to actuation of the actuatable assembly, thereby applying vacuum pressure at the breast to express milk. The expandable membrane comprises a plurality of expandable pleats which extend radially outward from a central longitudinal axis of the breast interface.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for evacuating a collection container, comprising a pump, the pump being suitable for being in connection with the collection container with its inlet, a pressure tank and a directional control valve, the pump transporting a medium out of the collection container and the pressure tank into the atmosphere when the pressure tank is connected to its inlet, wherein the directional control valve is configured to switch the pressure tank from the inlet to the outlet of the pump when a predefined criterion is fulfilled. The present invention further relates to a breast pump device comprising an apparatus for evacuating a collection container and a receiving funnel for receiving a beast of a woman.
