BREAST PUMP SYSTEM
20210170080 · 2021-06-10 ·

The invention is a wearable breast pump system including a housing shaped at least in part to fit inside a bra and a piezo air-pump. The piezo air-pump is fitted in the housing and forms part of a closed loop system that drives a separate, deformable diaphragm to generate negative air pressure. The diaphragm is removably mounted on a breast shield.

BREASTPUMP

A breastpump for expressing human breastmilk includes a multipart hygiene module having a first part with a flow opening for connecting to a interior, a valve body with at least one valve and a second part with a rigid cup for forming a pump chamber. The valve body is arranged between the first and second part and the hygiene module as a whole is connectable to the housing of the breastpump in a sealing and detachable manner.

CLOSED LOOP ELECTRIC BREAST PUMP

Examples disclosed herein are relevant to breast pumps. Disclosed examples include breast pumps that automatically adjust various pumping parameters based on data obtained from one or more sensors. The one or more sensors can produce data regarding an amount of milk expressed by a user. The adjusting of the pumping parameters can be configured to, for example, help the user efficiently express milk by utilizing a closed-feedback system that monitors the flow rate of the expressed milk.

BREAST STATUS DETERMINATION

The present invention relates to a breast status determination device (10′). The breast status determination device (10′) comprises a breast shield (16′), a nipple elongation measurement unit (17), and a breast status determination unit (20′). The breast shield (16′) can receive abreast (12) of a user (14) therein. The nipple elongation measurement unit (17) can measure an elongation of a nipple of the breast (12) received in the breast shield (16′) for a specific pressure in the breast shield (16′) during a milk extraction session. The breast status determination unit (20′) can determine a status of the breast (12) based on the elongation of the nipple (26). The breast status determination device (10′) can allow estimating the amount of milk left in the breast during the milk extraction session, when the breast (12) is empty, and whether a milk ejection reflex is present or absent in the breast (12).

Breast pump, method and computer program

The present invention relates to a breast pump (1) for extracting milk from a female breast comprising an expression kit (2), a container (5) connected to the expression kit (2), and a vacuum unit (6) connected to the expression kit (2), wherein the combined volumes of the expression kit (2), the container (5), the vacuum unit (6) and the connections thereof define a system air volume, and a vacuum pressure sensor for determining volume changes in the system air volume in response to changes in vacuum pressure.

AN APPARATUS CONFIGURED TO BE USED WITH A BREAST PUMP DEVICE

The invention relates to an apparatus (10) for collecting information related to operation of a breast pump device (1) comprising a pump (31) and a circuit (32) for supplying electric power to the pump (31). The apparatus (10) is accommodated in a power adapter of the device (1) and comprises a detection unit (11) that is configured to detect an electric signal on the circuit (32) of the device (1), a processing unit (12) that is configured to receive the detected electric signal from the detection unit (11) and to process the detected electric signal according to a preset routine in order to generate an information signal representative of information related to use of the device (1), and a transmission unit (13) that is configured to receive the information signal from the processing unit (12) and to transmit the information signal to an external device such as a smartphone (6).

The present invention relates to a breast shield used in a breast pump configured to pump human breast milk. The breast shield includes a hard base portion including both ends and a sidewall connecting the both ends to include a hollow therein in which the both ends are open and a human mamma is accommodated in the hollow through any one of the both ends, through holes passing through the sidewall, and a soft portion configured to surround an outer surface and an inner surface of the base portion, prevent an airflow through the through holes, and have flexibility.

OXYTOCIN RELEASE STIMULATION

The present invention relates to an oxytocin release stimulation device (10) that can be arranged at or close to skin of a user (40). The oxytocin release stimulation device (10) comprises a lighting unit (14) and a control unit (16). The control unit (16) controls the lighting unit (14) such that the lighting unit (14) provides light with specific wavelengths and radiant exposures to the skin of the user (40) for a duration that ensures stimulation of a release of oxytocin. Release of oxytocin allows to stimulate a milk ejection reflex and thus to support milk extraction, e.g. when the oxytocin release stimulation device (10) is used with a breast pump (100). The oxytocin release stimulation device (10) can furthermore allow to reach an oxytocin level during pregnancy that allows to reduce the risk of postpartum depression or that allows to facilitate induction of labor.
