HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE BUNDLE
The present disclosure relates to bundles of hollow fiber membranes and a process for their production. The bundles are used for the manufacture of filtration and/or diffusion devices, e.g., capillary dialyzers.
Dialysate-extracting apparatus
A dialysate-extracting apparatus in which a collecting port can be disinfected with no disinfecting work to be performed by a worker. A dialysate-extracting apparatus includes a dialysate-extracting device having an introduction port and a discharge port each of which is connected to the flow route for liquid and allows the liquid to flow therethrough, and a collecting port from which the liquid flowing in the flow route is collectable; and an opening-and-closing device that is movable between a closing position where the opening-and-closing device covers the collecting port of the dialysate-extracting device and an opening position where the opening-and-closing device 6 opens the collecting port. The dialysate-extracting apparatus further includes an ultraviolet-applying device attached to the opening-and-closing device and that is capable of applying ultraviolet rays to the collecting port when the opening-and-closing device is at the closing position.
Bar-type parameter adjustment elements
Graphical user interfaces for use with extracorporeal blood treatment systems may include one or more bar-type parameter adjustment elements. The bar-type parameter adjustment elements may be used to ascertain and adjust one or more parameters related to one or more processes performed by the extracorporeal blood treatment systems. The bar-type parameter adjustment element may be scaled such that midpoint of the bar-type parameter adjustment element is representative of a reference value.
HIGHLY-PERMEABLE DENSE HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE FOR BLOOD OXYGENATION
The present invention provides a highly-permeable dense hollow fiber membrane (HFM) for blood oxygenation. A membrane material plays a key role in an oxygenator, which determines the oxygenation efficiency, service life and safety of the oxygenator. The HFM according to the present invention features high permeability. When blood rich in carbon dioxide flows through the oxygenator, the carbon dioxide and oxygen in the blood can be rapidly exchanged, so that the blood can be rapidly updated, and the size of the oxygenator and the blood perfusion volume can be reduced. In addition, the membrane surface of the present invention is hydrophobic and dense, and blood does not directly contact with gas or permeate into a gas pipeline, thus avoiding the problems of protein leakage, permeability reduction and the like. The oxygenator prepared by using the HFM of the present invention can be repeatedly used for a long time.
Acoustophoresis device having improved dimensions
Systems and methods for cleansing blood are disclosed herein. The methods include acoustically separating target particles from elements of whole blood. The whole blood and capture particles are flowed through a microfluidic separation channel formed in a thermoplastic. At least one bulk acoustic transducer is attached to the microfluidic separation channel. A standing acoustic wave, imparted on the channel and its contents by the bulk acoustic transducer, drives the formed elements of the blood and target particles to specific aggregation axes.
Drain Apparatus for Hemodialysis Machines
This disclosure relates to dialysis systems and methods. In some implementations, a dialysis system includes a dialysis machine with a fluid line and a drain line, a blood line set configured to be connected to the dialysis machine, and a drain apparatus coupled to the dialysis machine. The drain apparatus includes a chamber configured to receive an end of a patient line of the blood line set, an inlet line, an outlet line, and a valve. The inlet line has a first end configured to be coupled to the chamber and a second end configured to be coupled to the fluid line of the dialysis machine. The outlet line has a first end configured to be coupled to the chamber and a second end configured to be coupled to the drain line of the dialysis machine. The valve is configured to control flow of fluid through the outlet line.
Blood Treatment Systems
Dialyzer systems can consolidate multiple technologies and functionalities of blood treatment systems in a significantly integrated fashion. For example, this disclosure describes dialyzer systems that include a magnetically driven and magnetically levitating pump rotor integrated into the dialyzer. Such a dialyzer can be used with treatment modules that include a magnetic field-generating pump drive unit. In some embodiments, the dialyzers include pressure sensor chambers with flexible membranes with which corresponding pressure transducers of the treatment modules can interface to detect arterial and/or venous pressures.
