Headphone retention mechanism
A head-mounted display assembly with a headphone retention mechanism. The head-mounted display assembly includes a display housing, a headphone assembly, a headphone storage region located on the body of the display housing, and a headphone retention mechanism at the headphone storage region. The headphone retention mechanism includes a magnetic element configured to produce a magnetic field that releasably retains the headphone assembly against the headphone storage region when a user positions the headphone assembly in the vicinity of the headphone storage region.
Cylindrical member holding apparatus capable of stably holding cylindrical member
A cylindrical member holding apparatus which is flexible in an axial direction of a cylindrical member and resists being deformed in directions perpendicular to the axial direction of the cylindrical member. A plurality of elastically-deformable supporting portions are disposed on respective opposite sides of the cylindrical member held by a holder portion in a direction of an axis of the cylindrical member and connect a base portion and the holder portion together. The supporting portions have such a shape as to be more easily elastically deformed in a first direction than in a second and third direction. The first direction is the axial direction of the cylindrical member, the second direction is a direction that is perpendicular to the first direction and connects the holder portion and the base portion together, and the third direction is perpendicular to the first direction and also perpendicular to the second direction.
Audio capture and transmission device having sound attenuation
Provided is a device for simultaneously communicating with a first wireless communication device and a second wireless communication device. A microphone is housed within the device and circuitry therefor is included in the device, and preferably housed within the device. The device form-fits generally over a user's mouth and nose and has an air tube extending substantially the length of the device, within the interior of the device, to relieve back-pressure. The device is shaped to promote attenuation of sound within the device, and is constructed to reduce uptake of outside, extraneous sound by the microphone. The circuitry comprises one or more processors, an audio capture module, power management module, listening output module, and data storage module. The device also has a touch screen interface.
Receiver with coil wound on a stationary ferromagnetic core
A receiver includes an acoustic module and a coil module. The acoustic module includes a first housing, a plurality of magnets, and an armature. The armature is disposed within the first housing and extends between the plurality of magnets. The coil module is coupled to the acoustic module, is physically separate from the acoustic module, and includes a second housing and a coil. The coil disposed within the second housing and does not surround the armature. The coil is excitable by an electrical current representative of acoustic energy and excitation of the coil produces a magnetic flux path which moves the armature.

Control button configurations for auditory prostheses
A button on an auditory prosthesis is aligned with a shaft and a bone anchor of the prosthesis. Forces resulting from pressing of the button are evenly distributed towards the anchor, which prevents damage to the prosthesis. The button can be connected to the prosthesis housing with a flexible element or seal, which acts as a soft mute function when the button is pressed, further reducing the risk of feedback. Dampers can be incorporated into the button structure to further dampen feedback that can be transmitted to other components of the auditory prosthesis.

Noise mitigating microphone system
A microphone system has a package with a top, a bottom, and four sides that at least in part form an interior chamber. One of the sides forms an inlet aperture for communicating the inlet chamber with the exterior environment. The system also has first and second microphone dies, in a stacked relationship, respectively having a first and second diaphragms. A circuit die, positioned in electrical communication with the first and second microphone dies, is configured to mitigate vibrational noise from the first microphone die using a signal produced by the second microphone die or vice versa. The first and second microphone dies are positioned so that the first and second diaphragms are substantially the same distance from the inlet aperture in the side.
Shared coil receiver
An apparatus includes a coil; a stationary core, wherein the coil is wound about a portion the stationary core; a first magnetic structure and a second magnetic structure, wherein the first magnetic structure and the second magnetic structure are coupled to the stationary core; a first armature having a first end of the first armature and a second end of the first armature, wherein the first end of the first armature is coupled to the stationary core and the second end of the first armature is disposed within the first magnetic structure; and a second magnetic armature having a first end of the second armature and second end of the second armature, wherein the first end of the second armature is coupled to the stationary core and the second end of the second armature is disposed within the second magnetic structure.
