HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICE

A hearing assistance device which is worn by the user and which can suppress the voices produced by the user wearing the hearing assistance device is provided. When the user wears the hearing assistance device 1, a pair of microphones is separated and positioned on both sides of a head of the user and a pair of speakers is separated and positioned on both ears of the user or positioned near the ears and which emits sound. The hearing assistance device includes a noise canceller 96 which subtracts a signal processed by a mouth directivity sound processor 93 from the input signal from at least one of the microphones L and R, in which the mouth directivity sound processor 93 emphasizes voice produced from a sound source positioned at a mouth of the user.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FREQUENCY-SPECIFIC LOCALIZATION AND SPEECH COMPREHENSION ENHANCEMENT
20220191627 · 2022-06-16 ·

An exemplary spatial enhancement system performs frequency- specific localization and speech comprehension enhancement. Specifically, the system receives an audio signal presented to a recipient of a hearing device, and generates, based on the audio signal, a first frequency signal and a second frequency signal. The first frequency signal includes a portion of the audio signal associated with a first frequency range, and the second frequency signal includes a portion of the audio signal associated with a second frequency range. Based on the first and second frequency signals, the system generates an output frequency signal that is associated with the first and second frequency ranges and that is configured for use by the hearing device in stimulating aural perception by the recipient. This generating of the output frequency signal includes processing the first frequency signal to apply a localization enhancement and processing the second frequency signal to apply a speech comprehension enhancement.

A hearing aid and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the hearing includes a body that at least partially conforms to the contours of the external ear and is sized to engage therewith. Various electronic components are contained within the body, including an electronic signal processor that is programmed with a preferred hearing range, which may be an about 10 Hz frequency to an about 30 Hz frequency range of sound corresponding to highest hearing capacity of a patient. Sound received at the hearing aid is converted to the preferred hearing range prior to output.

The present invention provides hearing systems and methods that provide an improved high frequency response. The high frequency response improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the hearing system and allows for preservation and transmission of high frequency spatial localization cues.

Hearing assistance device with brain computer interface

The present disclosure relates to communication devices. Such devices may comprise input for receiving sound signal to be processed and presented to a user, and output for outputting the processed signal to a user perceivable as sound. Such processing may be performed by use of a processor for processing the sound signal in dependence of a setting or a set of setting to compensate a hearing loss profile. Further, the communication device may comprise a bio-signal acquisition and amplifier component in communication with a user interface for providing the bio-signals as input to the user interface, the user interface controlling the setting or set of setting for operation of the communication device.

METHOD FOR OPERATING A HEARING DEVICE

A method for operating a hearing device. In this method, an entire audio signal is detected by means of a microphone. The entire audio signal is divided into a first audio signal and a second audio signal. A speech intelligibility of the second audio signal is reduced. The first audio signal and the second audio signal are combined to form an output signal, and the output signal is output by means of an output device. Further, a hearing device is provided.

A hearing device has an acceleration sensor that measure along three mutually perpendicular measurement axis. A movement of the hearing aid wearer is deduced from acceleration data of the acceleration sensor issued in an acceleration signal, a movement plane of the movement of the hearing aid wearer is derived from the acceleration data, a movement axis and a movement direction of the movement are ascertained from the acceleration data, and the presence of a rotational movement of the head is deduced on the basis of the movement plane, the movement axis and the movement direction. A direction of view probability distribution is created from the detected rotational movements, in particular on the basis of a yaw angle ascertained in the process. The direction of view probability distribution specifies a probability that the actual direction of view of the hearing aid wearer extends along an assigned angle.
