A method of preparing a medical fluid with a medical fluid generating machine includes receiving, at the medical fluid generating machine, a container to be filled with the medical fluid, receiving, at a processor, instructions to prepare the medical fluid, the instructions including an identification a medical fluid type from among a plurality of medical fluids and a desired volume of the medical fluid, preparing the medical fluid according to the received instructions, testing the prepared medical fluid to ensure that one or more characteristics of the prepared medical fluid is within an acceptable range, filling the container with the prepared fluid and labelling the container with information about the medical fluid, the information including the identification of the medical fluid type within the filled container, and an expiration date of the fluid.

Blood purification apparatus and blood purification system

A blood purification apparatus and a blood purification system that is operable with increased ease even if a blood purifier requires special treatment conditions and operational settings is used. A blood purification apparatus includes a blood purifier for giving blood purification treatment by purifying blood of a patient; and a control device that executes, in accordance with preset treatment conditions and/or operational settings, an operation for performing the blood purification treatment or an operation associated with the blood purification treatment. The blood purification apparatus includes a registering device that is capable of registering, in advance, the treatment conditions and/or operational settings corresponding to a performance, characteristic, or function of the blood purifier; and a changing device that is capable of changing the treatment conditions and/or operational settings to the treatment conditions and/or operational settings registered by the registering device, in accordance with the blood purifier to be used in the blood purification treatment.

Fiber optic connector with field installable outer connector housing

An optical connector includes a first sub-assembly that is factory-installed to a first end of an optical fiber and a second sub-assembly that is field-installed to the first end of the optical fiber. The optical fiber and first sub-assembly can be routed through a structure (e.g., a building) prior to installation of the second sub-assembly. The second sub-assembly interlocks with the first sub-assembly to inhibit relative axial movement therebetween. Example first sub-assemblies include a ferrule, a hub, and a strain-relief sleeve that mount to an optical fiber. Example second sub-assemblies include a mounting block; and an outer connector housing forming a plug portion.

Medical fluid delivery system including remote machine updating and control

A medical fluid delivery system in one embodiment includes: a first medical fluid delivery machine configured to generate a first message for remote transmission to a first patient or caregiver indicating (i) that the first medical fluid delivery machine is ready to perform a task or (ii) a preprogrammed time for the first medical fluid delivery machine to perform a task; and a second medical fluid delivery machine configured to generate a second message for remote transmission to a second patient or caregiver indicating (i) that the second medical fluid delivery machine is ready to perform a task or (ii) a preprogrammed time for the second medical fluid delivery machine to perform a task.
