System and method for remote peritoneal dialysis exchanges

A system and method is provided to allow multiple patients to receive peritoneal dialysis treatment at a walk-in facility without having to keep fresh dialysis solution on hand themselves. The walk-in facility is enabled to receive a peritoneal dialysis prescription from a patient, verify the prescription, determine the appropriate treatment for the patient, provide the patient with the appropriate dialysis solution in the appropriate amount, and enable the patient to undergo a dialysis treatment at the facility. The walk-in facility can also be enabled to monitor the patient's home dialysis treatment and to adjust the patient's treatment at the facility accordingly. The facility can be enabled to produce dialysis solution on demand by manufacturing the solution from solution components according to a patient's prescription. Moreover, the facility can use a sorbent system to regenerate effluent dialysis solution into fresh dialysis solution.

A renal failure therapy system (10a, 10b) includes a dialysis fluid circuit (30) including a dialysis fluid pump (54, 58); a source (86, 90) of physiological cleaning, disinfecting, and/or decalcifying substance in fluid communication with the dialysis fluid circuit; a source (22) of purified water in fluid communication with the dialysis fluid circuit; and a logic implementer (20) in operable communication with the dialysis fluid pump (54,58), the logic implementer (20) causing the physiological cleaning, disinfecting, and/or decalcifying substance from its source (86, 90) to be added to purified water from the purified water source (22) to form a mixture and to circulate the mixture within the dialysis fluid circuit using the dialysis fluid pump (54,58) to at least one of clean, disinfect or decalcify at least a portion of the dialysis fluid circuit (30) without a subsequent rinse.

PERITONEAL DIALYSIS SYSTEM AND METHODS

Described herein are systems and methods for performing peritoneal dialysis. According to one aspect, the disclosure in provides a sterile interface connection for connecting a water purification system to a disposable source of dialysate concentrates. The sterile interface connection can include a chamber comprising an inlet adapted to be connected to the water purification system on a proximal end and a valve on a distal end. The sterile interface connection can also include spring-loaded needle disposed in the chamber. The spring-loaded needle can move between a retracted configuration in which the spring-loaded needle is fully retracted into the chamber and the valve is closed and sealed, and an extended configuration in which the spring-loaded needle extends through the valve into the disposable source of dialysate concentrates.

Blood treatment cassette having a sterilization opening and an associated closure, and blood treatment apparatus

A blood treatment cassette having a cassette body embodied as a hard part and, optionally, a film which is connected to the hard part and at least partially covers the hard part, wherein the hard part comprises at least one sterilization opening, and wherein the sterilization opening comprises a closure device. The invention also relates to a blood treatment apparatus for using the blood treatment cassette.

Dialysate-extracting apparatus

A dialysate-extracting apparatus is provided in which scattering of dialysate that may occur when an opening-and-closing device is detached from a collecting port can be prevented and the cleanliness of the collecting port can be assuredly maintained. The dialysate-extracting apparatus includes a dialysate-extracting device connected to a dialysate flow route and having a collecting port from which dialysate flowing in the dialysate flow route is collectable, and an opening-and-closing device detachable from and attachable to the dialysate-extracting device in such a manner as to open and close the collecting port and including a seal portion that seals the collecting port in a closed state. When the opening-and-closing device is detached from the dialysate-extracting device, a part of the opening-and-closing device that is on an inner side with respect to the seal portion is bendable and displaceable toward the collecting port.

Re-use of a hemodialysis cartridge

The present invention provides a hemodialysis machine comprising a removably mountable cartridge having at least one inlet and at least one outlet, the cartridge defining a fluid pathway between said at least one inlet and said at least one outlet, a sanitisation device having an inlet and an outlet, a conduit connected between an outlet of the cartridge and the inlet of the sanitisation device and, a conduit connected between the outlet of the sanitisation device and an inlet of the cartridge.

Dual haemodialysis and haemodiafiltration blood treatment device

The invention relates to a blood treatment device, in particular a device which can perform haemodialysis and haemodifiltration procedures. This is achieved using an interconnected pump and valve arrangement which can be controlled to direct fluid across a dialysis membrane or parallel to said membrane depending on the type of processing required. This allows dynamic variation between modes of operation and treatment.

Device And Method For Preparing Dialysis Fluid And Dialysis Device

The invention relates to an apparatus and to a method for supplying dialysate. The invention also relates to a dialysis apparatus comprising an apparatus for supplying dialysate. The apparatus for supplying dialysate has a balancing device 8, which comprises at least one balancing chamber 9, 10 for balancing fresh and used dialysate, and a metering device 28 for filling the at least one balancing chamber with permeate and concentrates in a specified mixing ratio for producing dialysate. The metering device 28 is designed such that specified volumes of concentrates are conveyed into the at least one balancing chamber 9, 10 in successive working cycles. Given that the specified volumes of concentrates are not added simultaneously, the concentrates can be conveyed using just one single metering pump. This is advantageous in that the metering pump is a relatively expensive component of the mixer circuit. In practice, the design is simpler and compact and the maintenance costs are reduced.

PORT ARRANGEMENT, A PURIFIED WATER PRODUCING APPARATUS COMPRISING THE PORT ARRANGEMENT AND A METHOD FOR PERFORMING PORT CLEANING OF A PURIFIED WATER PRODUCING APPARATUS
20240207497 · 2024-06-27 ·

A method for performing port cleaning of an apparatus having a casing, a fluid circuit enclosed inside the casing, and a port arrangement. The method includes producing a cleaning fluid with the fluid circuit; passing the cleaning fluid through a first port via a first tube of the first port to a first circumferential space, from the first circumferential space via a bypass channel to a second circumferential space, and thereafter to a second tube of a second port; and passing the cleaning fluid from the second tube to a drain.

FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR WITH FIELD INSTALLABLE OUTER CONNECTOR HOUSING

An optical connector includes a first sub-assembly that is factory-installed to a first end of an optical fiber and a second sub-assembly that is field-installed to the first end of the optical fiber. The optical fiber and first sub-assembly can be routed through a structure (e.g., a building) prior to installation of the second sub-assembly. The second sub-assembly interlocks with the first sub-assembly to inhibit relative axial movement therebetween. Example first sub-assemblies include a ferrule, a hub, and a strain-relief sleeve that mount to an optical fiber. Example second sub-assemblies include a mounting block; and an outer connector housing forming a plug portion.
