METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING A SHORT-RANGE RADIO LINK, AND HEARING DEVICE AND CHARGING UNIT
A method is specified for establishing a short-range radio link, in particular a Bluetooth connection, between a first device and a second device. A charging unit, which is configured to charge a hearing device, mediates the establishment of the short-range radio link. The charging unit transmits pairing data of the first device to the second device to establish the short-range radio link, so that the latter device is paired with the first device and the short-range radio link is established. There are also described a hearing device and a charging unit.
Processing audio and video in a hearing aid system
System and methods for processing audio signals are disclosed. In one implementation, a system may include at least one microphone configured to capture sounds from an environment of a user; a wearable camera configured to capture a plurality of images from the environment of the user; and at least one processor. The processor may be configured to receive at least one image of the plurality of images; receive at least one audio signal representative of the sounds captured by the at least one microphone; identify an item of information based on at least one of the at least one image or the at least one audio signal; determine at least a beginning of an informational time period for providing the item of information to the user; and transmit an informational audio signal representative of the item of information to a hearing interface device during the informational time period.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VALIDATION OF HEARING AIDS FOR INFANTS USING A SPEECH SIGNAL
A system for validation of a hearing aid performance, especially in small children is disclosed. The validation of the performance of hearing aids after having being fitted to a small child who is not able to subjectively provide responses to sounds presented to the child via the hearing aids, is instead done in an objective manner, by using a naturally occurring signal, which has been modulated in order to create an ASSR evoking speech stimulus which is not considered as noise by a hearing aid.
Method for inductive charging of a rechargeable hearing instrument
A charging kit for inductively charging a rechargeable hearing instrument having an inductive coil, includes: a base unit having a first cavity; and an adapter configured to be received by the first cavity, wherein the adapter comprises a second cavity configured to receive the rechargeable hearing instrument; wherein the base unit is configured to determine a characteristic of the inductive coil of the hearing instrument; wherein the base unit is configured to provide a current by the base unit based at least in part on the determined characteristic of the inductive coil; and wherein the base unit is configured to inductively charge the rechargeable hearing instrument.
Hearing assistance devices and user interfaces for use with same
A hearing assistance device including a housing, a user manipulatable control element, and a printed circuit board having a flexible substrate, sound processor circuitry on the flexible substrate, and a variable resistor that is an integral part of the printed circuit board and/or is secured to the housing.
Modular connection assembly for a hearing assistance device
The present subject matter relates to an improved connection assembly for hearing assistance devices. The improved connection assembly provides a connection system that is reliable, straightforward to manufacture, and easy to use. The present connection assembly provides a rapid replacement option for the cable and/or the receiver or other electronics connected to the cable. The present subject matter provides for a connection assembly that can be extended to provide connections for a variety of applications which are not limited to a speaker (receiver) in the ear. Sensors and new configurations of component placement are supported using the present assembly, including, but not limited to telecoils, and GMR or TMR sensors. Various electromagnetic interference issues are addressed. In some examples a shielded set of wires are included. In some examples a twisted pair of wires is included. Various combinations of wires for different applications are supported with the present connector system.
Apparatus and method for wireless body communication
An electromagnetic induction wireless transceiver including: a magnetic antenna; and a signal source configured to produce a communication signal used to drive the magnetic antenna to produce electromagnetic induction fields, wherein the transceiver when connected to a first location on a body is configured to communicate with another electromagnetic induction wireless transceiver connected to a second location on the body.
Hearing device and a hearing system comprising a multitude of adaptive two channel beamformers
A binaural hearing system comprises a first and second hearing aids. The hearing aids each comprises antenna and transceiver circuitry allowing the exchange of audio signals between them. At least one of the hearing aids comprises primary and secondary adaptive 2-channel beamformers each providing a spatially filtered signal based on first and second beamformer-input signals. The primary and secondary 2-channel beamformers are coupled in a cascaded structure. In an embodiment, the spatially filtered signal of the secondary 2-channel beamformer may comprise an estimate of user's own voice. In an embodiment, the spatially filtered signal of the secondary 2-channel beamformer may comprise an estimate of a target signal in the environment. In an embodiment, the inputs to the secondary 2-channel beamformer may be beamformed signals from the first and second hearing aids respectively.
ANTENNA SYSTEM WITH ADAPTIVE CONFIGURATION FOR HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A hearing assistance device such as a hearing aid includes an antenna system that has an adaptive antenna configuration that can be dynamically optimized for communicating with one or more other devices at different locations. The hearing assistance device determines an approximately optimal antenna configuration and adjusts the antenna configuration to that approximately optimal antenna configuration using one or more switches coupled between the antenna system and a communication circuit of the hearing assistance device.
