Identifying information and associated individuals
A hearing aid system for individual identification of a hearing aid system may include a wearable camera, a microphone, and at least one processor. The processor may be programmed to receive a plurality of images captured by the wearable camera; receive audio signals representative of sounds captured by the microphone; and identify a first audio signal, from among the received audio signals, representative of a voice of a first individual. The processor may transcribe and store, in a memory, text corresponding to speech associated with the voice of the first individual and determine whether the first individual is a recognized individual. If the first individual is a recognized individual, the processor may associate an identifier of the first recognized individual with the stored text corresponding to the speech associated with the voice of the first individual.
Canal hearing devices with sound port contaminant guards
A hearing device including a housing, a receiver within the housing, and a contaminant guard having a guard sound port and one or both of an outer contaminant receptacle, which is located outward of the guard sound port and that extends around the guard sound port, and an inner contaminant receptacle, which that is located on the central axis of the guard sound port and operably connected to a location outward of the guard sound port.
Hearing device test and diagnostics system and methods
Systems and methods for detecting and diagnosing causes of subpar performance of a hearing device are provided for a user. The hearing device may include a housing, a receiver and a sound processor configured to send signals to the receiver. The receiver may be configured to output audio signals from the signals sent by the sound processor. A base unit may include a main body having a cradle formed therein. The cradle may be configured to receive the hearing device therein. A base unit microphone interfaces with the cradle and may be configured to receive output audio signals from the receiver when the hearing device is received in the cradle. The base unit microphone and the receiver remain in open communication with a space exterior of the base unit when the hearing device has been received in the cradle. A processor associated with the system may be configured to compare signal energy levels of test audio signals produced by the base unit microphone, in response to the audio signals received from the receiver, with signal energy levels of reference audio signals, and to indicate a blockage of the receiver has occurred when a difference between the signal energy levels of test audio signals and the signal energy levels of reference audio signals exceeds a threshold difference.
HOUSING COMPRISING A SENSOR
An assembly of at least one radiation detector, at least one radiation emitter and a housing configured to be positioned inside the ear canal of a person or animal, the detector(s) and emitter(s) being provided in or on the housing, the emitter(s) being configured to emit radiation away from the housing and the detector(s) being configured to receive radiation directed toward the housing. No overlap may be provided between the field of view of the radiation detector(s) and the emitter(s), such as by providing a blocking element.
CIRCULAR POLARIZED SPIRAL ANTENNA FOR HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICES
Disclosed herein, among other things, are apparatus and methods for a high-efficiency antenna for hearing assistance device wireless communication. In various embodiments, a hearing assistance device includes a housing, a power source within the housing, and a radio circuit within the housing and electrically connected to the power source. A circular polarized spiral antenna is provided within the housing in various embodiments, the antenna configured to provide two electric field components configured to be used for wireless communications for the hearing assistance device. The device further includes a transmission line connected to a center of a spiral of the antenna and configured to electrically connect to the radio circuit, according to various embodiments.
ACOUSTIC PORT COVER
Presented herein are acoustic port covers for attachment to electronic devices. An electronic device includes a housing having at least one acoustic port extending through the housing. An acoustic port cover in accordance with embodiments presented herein is configured to be detachably coupled to the housing so as to cover the at least one acoustic port and function as a barrier to the accumulation of foreign materials/contaminants at a protective membrane associated with the at least one acousticport.
Hearing Device Test and Diagnostics System and Methods

A processor associated with the system may be configured to compare signal energy levels of test audio signals produced by the base unit microphone, in response to the audio signals received from the receiver, with signal energy levels of reference audio signals, and to indicate a blockage of the receiver has occurred when a difference between the signal energy levels of test audio signals and the signal energy levels of reference audio signals exceeds a threshold difference.
CABLE ALIGNMENT FEATURES IN A CUSTOM-FITTED HEARING DEVICE SHELL
An ear-wearable electronic device includes a shell with a cable retention slot. The cable entrance slot has an interior end and an exterior end. A bend surface extends from the exterior end of the cable retention slot to an exterior surface of the shell. The bend surface aligned with a crux of a user’s ear when the ear-wearable device is installed in an ear of the user’s ear. The shell may include a uniquely-shaped outer surface that corresponds uniquely to an ear geometry of the user of the ear-wearable device.
Face mask with audio device holder
Face masks and attachments to accommodate hearing aids are provided herein. The face masks include a mask body, ear loops and a hearing aid holder to removably hold a hearing aid. In some configurations, a hearing aid holder which can be detachably attached to a mask is provided.
Hearing device assembly
The present disclosure relates to a hearing device assembly comprising a behind-the-ear base unit and an in-the-ear transducer module, which communicate via a single wire interface and wherein the base unit is configured to take on a communication role in response to a signal asserted by the transducer module.
