Damping in contact hearing systems
Embodiments of the present invent include a method of controlling unwanted vibration in a tympanic lens, wherein the tympanic lens comprises a perimeter platform connected to a microactuator through at least one biasing element, the method comprising the step of: damping the motion of the at least one biasing element. In embodiments of the invention, the at least one biasing element is a spring. In embodiments of the invention, the at least one bias spring is coated in a damping material.
HEARING DEVICE ASSEMBLY
The present disclosure relates to a hearing device assembly comprising a behind-the-ear base unit and an in-the-ear transducer module, which communicate via a communication interface and wherein the base unit is configured to detect whether the transducer module comprises a microcontroller.
STANDARD ATTACHMENT FOR A STANDARD EARPIECE AND STANDARD EARPIECE
A standard attachment for a standard earpiece insertable into an ear canal in a direction of insertion, by which, compared to customary attachments, an improved adaptation of the corresponding standard earpiece to an ear canal is achieved, and therefore improved audio perception, and also improved wearing comfort of the respective hearing aid is ensured. The standard attachment contains a headpiece at one end and, adjoining the latter, a wing portion. The outer contour of the headpiece is configured to allow the headpiece to bear on the wall of the ear canal at several points or on several lines.
Ear-worn electronic device incorporating antenna with reactively loaded network circuit
Various embodiments are directed to an ear-worn electronic device configured to be worn by a wearer. The device comprises an enclosure configured to be supported by or in an ear of the wearer. Electronic circuitry is disposed in the enclosure and comprises a wireless transceiver. An antenna is situated in or on the enclosure and coupled to the wireless transceiver. The antenna comprises a first antenna element, a second antenna element, and a strap comprising a reactive component connected to the first and second antenna elements.
Encapsulated hearing device
The present invention relates to an encapulated hearing device (50), e.g. for long-term wear, in which an electronics module (10) is encapsulated into a thermoformed hull (30) by means of an appropriate adhesive (41). This thermoformed hull (30) acts as an improved barrier between the electronics module (10) and the environment of the inner ear, reducing the risk of moisture reaching electrical components.
Sound processor apparatuses that facilitate low power component type detection and communication with a programming system
An exemplary sound processor apparatus included in an auditory prosthesis system includes 1) an interface assembly that includes at least a first contact, 2) a first switchable current source having an output coupled to the first contact of the interface assembly by way of a first data line, 3) a differential transmitter having an output coupled to the first contact of the interface assembly by way of the first data line, 4) a differential receiver having an input coupled to the first contact of the interface assembly by way of the first data line, and 5) a control module communicatively coupled to the first switchable current source, the differential transmitter, and the differential receiver and configured to selectively operate in a component type detection mode and in a programming mode. Corresponding sound processor apparatuses, systems, and methods are also described.
Detachable filter member for hearing aid device
A replaceable filter member for a hearing aid device is disclosed. The filter member comprising an unit with a housing configured to be inserted into the ear canal of a user of the hearing aid device. The filter member is configured to prevent ear wax from entering an opening in the housing. The filter member is a one-piece body that is configured to cover several openings in the unit while being attached to the unit.
CHARGING CONTACT ASSEMBLY, HEARING DEVICE AND HEARING DEVICE SYSTEM
A charging contact assembly for a hearing device system. The assembly has a first charging contact which is accessible on an outer side for contacting with a first mating contact of a mating contact assembly, and a second charging contact which is accessible on the outer side for contacting with a second mating contact of the mating contact assembly. Furthermore, the charging contact assembly has a control contact which is galvanically isolated on the outer side from the first and the second charging contacts, and a charging controller which is configured to detect a proper contacting of the first and second charging contacts with the corresponding mating contact based on contact with the control contact.
SPEAKER UNIT FOR A HEARING AID DEVICE SYSTEM, AND HEARING AID DEVICE SYSTEM
A speaker unit detachably mountable to a hearing aid device body configured to be positioned behind an ear of a wearer is disclosed. Further, hearing aid device system comprising the speaker unit is disclosed. The speaker unit comprises a contacting unit comprising at least one contact element and configured to be detachably mountable to a hearing aid device connector of said hearing aid device. The speaker unit further comprises a speaker unit body configured to be positioned at least partly in an ear canal of the wearer and comprising an output transducer unit configured to provide an acoustic signal based on an electrical signal input to said output transducer unit via said at least one contact element. The speaker unit further comprises a connecting unit provided between said speaker unit body and said contacting unit and including at least one wire configured to electrically connect said speaker unit body and said contacting unit. Further, the speaker unit comprises a memory unit configured to store data relating to said speaker unit.
ELECTRONIC MODULE FOR A HEARING DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to an electronic module for a hearing device. The electronic module comprises at least one electronic component for a hearing device and an embedding material covering the electronic component. The electronic component comprises at least one restricted area which is free from the embedding material.
