User interfaces for managing audio exposure

The present disclosure generally relates to user interfaces and techniques for managing audio exposure using a computer system (e.g., an electronic device). In accordance with some embodiments, the electronic device displays a graphical indication of a noise exposure level over a first period of time with an area of the graphical indication that is colored to represent the noise exposure level, the color of the area transitioning from a first color to a second color when the noise exposure level exceeds a first threshold. In accordance with some embodiments, the electronic device displays noise exposure levels attributable to a first output device type and a second output device type and, in response to selecting a filtering affordance, visually distinguishes a set of noise exposure levels attributable to the second output device type.

Diagnosis of pathologies using infrasonic signatures

A medical device includes an acoustic transducer, which is configured to sense acoustic waves emitted from a body of a living subject in response to a periodic physiological activity and to output an electrical signal in response to the sensed waves. Processing circuitry is configured to compute respective autocorrelations of the electrical signal for a plurality of different times within a period of the physiological activity, to transform the respective autocorrelations to a frequency domain, and to render to a display, responsively to the transformed autocorrelations, a graphical representation of a spectral distribution of an energy of the acoustic waves over the period.

Confirming Accessory Functionality
20210352424 · 2021-11-11 ·

A method of confirming an accessory functionality of an accessory device includes obtaining an accessory device description that includes information regarding the accessory device and identifying a test case based on the accessory device description. The test case is configured to evaluate the accessory functionality and includes a test standard. The method also includes performing, by a test device, a test procedure that corresponds to the test case. The test procedure causes the accessory device to perform an action that corresponds to the accessory functionality. The method also includes recording an observation regarding the action, and determining whether a test result corresponds to a pass condition or a fail condition based on a comparison of the observation to the test standard.

An appropriate level index is obtained from an input audio waveform. An audio signal processing method includes detecting one or more level values in each of a plurality of attack sections included in an audio signal including the plurality of attack sections and a plurality of non-attack sections different from the plurality of attack sections; and generating a histogram of the detected level values in each of the plurality of attack sections, the generated histogram excluding level values of the plurality of non-attack sections.

Device and process for monitoring sound and gas exposure

A device includes a gas-measuring unit and a sound-measuring unit. The gas-measuring unit has a gas sensor detecting a first measured variable, and a gas analysis module determining a gas concentration from the first variable and comparing the concentration with a first threshold value, to output a first signal based thereon. The sound-measuring unit has a sound detection unit detecting a second measured variable, and a sound analysis module determining a status variable, from the second variable, indicating a noise exposure, and comparing the status variable with a second threshold value to determine a first parameter indicating a current sound level and/or determining a second parameter indicating a sound exposure accumulated over a time interval. The sound analysis module may determine the status variable, the first parameter and/or the second parameter as a function of the comparison of the gas concentration and the first threshold value.

A digital signal processing method for ambient sound acoustic dosimetry. Strength of a microphone signal generated by a watch worn by a user is determined and converted into a sound sample having units for sound noise exposure. This is repeated multiple times to produce a time sequence of sound samples that is written to a secure database access to which is authorized by the user. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

Systems and methods for unsupervised audio source separation using generative priors

Various embodiments of a system and associated method for audio source separation based on generative priors trained on individual sources. Through the use of projected gradient descent optimization, the present approach simultaneously searches in the source-specific latent spaces to effectively recover the constituent sources. Though the generative priors can be defined in the time domain directly, it was found that using spectral domain loss functions leads to good-quality source estimates.

Method and System for Visual Display of Audio Cues in Video Games

Methods and systems are provided that provide visual display of audio signals in a video game. In one implementation, the system provides video game audio cues to deaf and hard of hearing players with audio cue reactive light emitting diode (LED) displays. These may be in the form of two lighting components placed on either side of a visual display. Audio cue reactive LED displays increase audio accessibility by converting audio stimuli into visual stimuli. Audio cue reactive LED displays can be attached to the left side and right side of any video game display, for example, to provide consistent sensory feedback that does not have to be in constant physical contact with deaf and hard of hearing players.
