Playback system join with base
10001965 · 2018-06-19 · ·

An example implementation may involve a playback device detecting placement of the playback device onto a device base of a particular media playback system. The playback device may determine that it is configured to automatically join media playback systems. Based on such a determination, the playback device may send, to the particular media playback system, a request to join the particular media playback system. The playback device may receive, from the media playback system, one or more messages that enable the playback device to join the particular media playback system, which the playback device may use to join the particular media playback system.

Audio layer in keyboard device providing enhanced audio performance

A case having a recessed holding, an acoustic waveguide, and at least one audio transducer device. The recessed holding well is configured to receive and captively hold a stand-alone keyboard within the recessed holding well. The acoustic waveguide is integrated with a bottom cover of the case and between a bottom surface of the case and the recessed holding well. The at least one audio transducer device is coupled to a signal processing device and the acoustic waveguide. The at least one audio transducer device is configured to generate an audible audio output in response to an audio signal output from the signal processing device. The acoustic waveguide is configured to receive the audible audio output and generate an enhanced bass audio output.

PORTABLE SPEAKER SYSTEM

A speaker system is provided with a docking station, a removable housing mounted to the docking station, and a transducer supported by the removable housing. The speaker system is also provided with a processor supported by the removable housing and programmed to separate an audio signal into channels and provide at least one channel to the transducer based a location of the removable housing relative to the docking station.

PERIPHERAL AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE

Embodiments are provided for an improved peripheral speaker. The peripheral speaker includes an exterior casing enclosing one or more drivers. The exterior casing further has a channel formed therein such that the channel is sized to removably secure an electronic device. The exterior casing is equipped with a connector lead which partially defines the cavity and that connects the one or more drivers to a port of the electronic device. The one or more drivers output audio according to an audio signal transmitted from the electronic device via the connector lead.

Acoustic device

An acoustic device with a housing with a central portion and first and second leg portions that depend from the central portion, a first acoustic driver carried by the first leg portion, a second acoustic driver carried by the second leg portion, and an audio signal control system that directs audio signals to each of the first and second drivers, where the drivers transduce the audio signals to output sounds. The audio signal control system is arranged to apply first and second equalization modes to the audio signals in a first and second listening mode, respectively. The second equalization de-emphasizes frequencies below a first threshold frequency and boosts frequencies above the first threshold frequency.

AUDIO DEVICES

Examples of an audio device may comprise a speaker, a body having multiple sides, and an electrical communication feature disposed on each of the multiple sides. Each electrical communication feature may facilitate electrical communication between the audio device and an external device.

Quantization step sizes for compression of spatial components of a sound field
09980074 · 2018-05-22 · ·

In general, techniques are described for determining quantization step sizes for compression of spatial components of a sound field. A device comprising one or more processors may be configured to perform the techniques. In other words, the one or more processors may be configured to determine a quantization step size to be used when compressing a spatial component of a sound field, where the spatial component generated by performing a vector based synthesis with respect to a plurality of spherical harmonic coefficients.

PERSONAL WIRELESS MEDIA STATION

The disclosure herein provides a personal wireless media station including a base station and a wireless earbud. The personal wireless media station may detect that the wireless earbud is docked to the base station, play sound through a speaker of the base station while the wireless earbud is docked to the base station, detect that the wireless earbud is undocked from the base station, cease to play sound through the speaker of the base station in response to detecting that the wireless earbud is undocked from the base station, and cause sound to begin playing through the wireless earbud while the wireless earbud is undocked from the base station.

MODULAR WIRELESS EARBUDS

Modular cordless earbuds structured to be carried, charged, and connected in different wearable and storage forms are provided. In some embodiments, the earbuds are modularized such that the earbuds can be combined with other compatible accessory products, including a bracelet, a pendant, a charging case, and a charging station. In some embodiments, a companion application is used to control and/or receive signals from the earbuds.

Vehicle entertainment assemblies and systems

Methods and systems are disclosed relating to in-vehicle entertainment, information presentation, and/or processing. Aspects of multimedia in-vehicle entertainment systems that may incorporate removable and/or portable tablet-type computing devices are described. In certain configurations, a hinged tablet computer carrier includes guide rails into which a portable tablet computer may slide while in an open position, and which can hinge into a closed or locked position that holds the tablet computer in place, positions it for viewing, and effects mechanical and electrical coupling of the tablet computer with other components of the in-vehicle entertainment system. Exemplary placement could include headrest, seatback, overhead, or in-dash mounting. Hinging or sliding could be vertical or horizontal. Various other mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical aspects of the methods and systems are described.
