WIRELESS AUDIO STREAMING SYSTEM FOR SWIMMERS AND UNDER WATER APPLICATIONS
20220140916 · 2022-05-05 ·

A wireless audio streaming system for swimmers and underwater applications uses directional transmission antennas, one or more reception antennas worn on a user, and a combination of radio frequency and near-field magnetic induction communication, for streaming audio to a swimmer, buffering the streamed audio, and allowing the user to play the audio on a wireless, waterproof headset.

Systems and methods for calibrating speakers

Systems and method are disclosed for facilitating efficient calibration of filters for correcting room and/or speaker-based distortion and/or binaural imbalances in audio reproduction, and/or for producing three-dimensional sound in stereo system environments. According to some embodiments, using a portable device such as a smartphone or tablet, a user can calibrate speakers by initiating playback of a test signal, detecting playback of the test signal with the portable device's microphone, and repeating this process for a number of speakers and/or device positions (e.g., next to each of the user's ears). A comparison can be made between the test signal and the detected signal, and this can be used to more precisely calibrate rendering of future signals by the speakers.

Audio apparatus
11720322 · 2023-08-08 · ·

An audio apparatus includes a network interface, a receiver, at least one storage, and at least one processor. The processor is configured to determine that the audio apparatus is in a state capable of communicating with the other audio apparatus via the network interface. The processor is also configured to receive audio data via the receiver transmitted from an external apparatus different from the other audio apparatus. The processor is also configured to output a sound based on the received audio data. The processor is also configured to transmit the sound emission control information stored in the at least one storage to the other audio apparatus. The sound emission control information includes one or more of a sound volume, and a frequency band.

Detecting the nearest playback device

Examples described herein relate to transitioning a playback session between portable playback devices such as “smart” headphones, earbuds, and handheld speakers with playback devices of a zone-based media playback system. Exemplary techniques facilitate continuity of playback when transitioning between locations (e.g., from at home to on-the-go or vice versa) or between listening paradigms (e.g., personal or out-loud playback of audio content). An example implementation includes detecting a swap trigger, determining the source playback device(s) and target playback device(s), and performing a playback session swap between the source playback device(s) and target playback device(s).

Sound pickup device, sound pickup system, sound pickup method, program, and calibration method

A sound pickup device includes a sound pickup unit, a mounting part, and a communication unit. The sound pickup unit includes a microphone array including a plurality of microphones. The sound pickup unit generates an acoustic signal that corresponds to ambient sound that has been picked up by the microphone array. An electronic device is mounted on the mounting part and the electronic device includes a camera that generates image data by imaging surroundings. The communication unit transmits the acoustic signal to the electronic device.

GENERIC LOUDSPEAKER ENCLOSURE

A generic loudspeaker enclosure including a cabinet including internal partitions defining a plurality of acoustic chambers that are sealed, distinct, and separated from one another by said internal partitions, each acoustic chamber including an orifice opening to the outside of the cabinet in a respective different direction; a plurality of loudspeakers, each including a respective diaphragm, each loudspeaker being incorporated in a respective one of the acoustic chambers; at least one first connector mounted in sealed manner on the cabinet, the first connector having contacts that are electrically connected to the loudspeakers, the first connector thus being arranged to connect the loudspeakers electrically to the electronic card of the electronic additional module via a second connector mounted on the electronic additional module and complementary to the first connector.

Headset capable of wireless charging, and headset charging system using wireless power transmission comprising same

A headset capable of wireless charging is provided. The headset capable of wireless charging according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a pair of body units including a housing equipped with a speaker and a cushion unit; a connecting unit configured to connect the pair of body units; a battery module embedded in at least one of the body units and connecting unit to provide driving power; and a wireless power receiving antenna configured to receive wireless power transmitted from the outside to supply power for charging the battery module.

Systems and methods of user localization
11184702 · 2021-11-23 · ·

Systems and methods are disclosed in which a playback device transmits a first sound signal including a predetermined waveform. In one example, the playback device receives a second sound signal including at least one reflection of the first sound signal. The second sound signal is processed to determine a location of a person relative to the playback device, and a characteristic of audio reproduction by the playback device is selected, based on the determined location of the person.

Smart Phone Holder Assembly
20220014223 · 2022-01-13 ·

A smart phone holder assembly includes a base that is positionable on a horizontal support surface. A speaker is coupled to the base to emit audible sound outwardly therefrom. An arm is coupled to and extends upwardly from the base. The arm is comprised of a bendable material such that the arm stays in whatever orientation the arm is manipulated into. A mounting unit is coupled to the arm and the mounting unit releasably engages a smart phone to support the smart phone at a selected orientation. The mounting unit has a plurality of ports is integrated therein and the ports place the smart phone in electrical communication with the speaker and the power supply.

Electronic furniture systems with integrated induction charger

A furniture system including a base and transverse member, with an induction charger provided in the transverse member and/or base, hidden from view and feel, embedded, e.g., at least 10 mm below the charging surface. In an embodiment, the transverse member includes a frame having an upper panel and an induction charger elastically secured at least partially above the upper panel such that the induction charger is elastically pushed down toward or through the upper panel when a force is exerted downward onto the induction charger. The induction charger elastically yields downward or otherwise toward or into the furniture system in response to loads, such as loads from sitting on the induction charger, to prevent damage thereto. The induction charger can elastically yield as such and still be positioned close enough to the surface of the furniture system to effectively charge electronic devices placed thereon.
