MULTIPLE DISPERSION STANDALONE STEREO LOUDSPEAKERS

Embodiments are directed to a speaker system that contains an array of multiple dispersion drivers that creates an expansive acoustic pattern to playback multi-channel audio content through a standalone speaker. The speaker system comprises an interface receiving stereo audio; an upmixer generating surround sound formatted audio from the stereo audio including one or more height channels; a virtualizer/downmixer component coupled to the upmixer and generating speaker feeds for two or more loudspeaker output sections, configured to play back the stereo audio, wherein each output section is further configured to play its own dedicated stereo audio signals; and a set of drivers each coupled to a respective output section and configured to project sound in at least two different dispersion patterns.

In-ear headphone

A low-profile earbud is disclosed that sits securely within an ear of a user. The earbud includes a protruding portion that passes through a channel defined by the tragus and anti-tragus of the ear. In some embodiments, the protruding portion can take the form of a cable configured to supply power and transfer data to the earbud. In some embodiments, the protruding portion can provide additional space for electrical components and sensors supporting the earbud.

Combination of immersive and binaural sound

The present subject matter provides a technical solution to the technical problems facing sound localization by separating sounds and reproducing the separated sounds using a set of loudspeakers and a set of headphones. A general soundtrack that is meant to be experienced throughout the room would play through the loudspeakers, and specific sounds that are meant to be experienced near the listener would be played through a binaural representation in the headphones. The headphones may be selected to avoid occluding the ear, allowing sound produced at the loudspeakers to be heard clearly. This separation and reproduction of sounds using a combination of a loudspeaker and headphone provides a technical solution to the technical problem facing typical surround sound systems by localizing sounds for listeners in any location within a room. This improves reproduction accuracy of location-specific audio objects, including audio objects above or below a coplanar speaker configuration.

Systems and methods for generating natural directional pinna cues for virtual sound source synthesis

A method for binaural synthesis of at least one virtual sound source comprises operating a first device comprising at least four physical sound sources, wherein, when the first device is used by a user, at least two physical sound sources are positioned closer to a first ear of the user than to a second ear, and at least two physical sound sources are positioned closer to the second ear than to the first ear, and wherein, for each ear, at least two physical sound sources are configured to acoustically induce natural directional pinna cues associated with different directions of sound arrival at the ear of the user. The method further comprises receiving and processing at least one audio input signal and distributing at least one processed version of the audio input signal at least between 4 kHz and 12 kHz over at least two physical sound sources for each ear.

Arrangements and methods for generating natural directional pinna cues

A headphone arrangement is configured to induce natural directional pinna cues. The arrangement comprises an ear cup comprising a frame configured to at least partly encircle the ear of a user, wherein the frame is at least partially hollow. The arrangement further comprises a loudspeaker arranged within a wall of a frontal part, a rear part, an upper part, and/or a lower part of the frame, the loudspeaker comprising a membrane, a first side of the membrane facing a cavity inside the frame, and a second side of the membrane facing the outside. At least one loudspeaker is arranged at a first angle with respect to a median plane crossing a user's head midway between the user's ears such that a main direction of sound propagation is directed away from the median plane, and the second side of the membrane is directed away from the median plane.

Eyeglass headphones

An eyeglass headphone with a frame that is constructed and arranged to be carried by the head of a wearer, the frame comprising a bridge that is adapted to be supported by the wearer's nose, and a left temple and a right temple that extend rearwardly from the bridge, toward the left and right ears of the wearer, respectively, and a dipole loudspeaker built into the frame, where the dipole loudspeaker comprises a driver that emits front-side acoustic radiation from its front side, and emits rear-side acoustic radiation from its rear side. The frame comprises at least first and second sound-emitting openings, wherein the first sound-emitting opening is constructed and arranged to emit front-side acoustic radiation and the second sound-emitting opening is constructed and arranged to emit rear-side acoustic radiation.

Provided are a method for processing information and related products. The method includes the following. A target voice corresponding to a target language type is obtained. A first language type corresponding to the first headphone is determined. The target voice is converted into a first input voice corresponding to the first language type. The first input voice is sent to the first headphone.

Optimizing the performance of an audio playback system with a linked audio/video feed

An audio system is provided that efficiently detects speaker arrays and configures the speaker arrays to output sound. In this system, a computing device may record the addresses and/or types of speaker arrays on a shared network while a camera captures video of a listening area, including the speaker arrays. The captured video may be analyzed to determine the location of the speaker arrays, one or more users, and/or the audio source in the listening area. While capturing the video, the speaker arrays may be driven to sequentially emit a series of test sounds into the listening area and a user may be prompted to select which speaker arrays in the captured video emitted each of the test sounds. Based on these inputs from the user, the computing device may determine an association between the speaker arrays on the shared network and the speaker arrays in the captured video.
