SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CUSTOMIZING AUDITORY DEVICES
Systems and methods are provided for customizing an auditory prosthesis or other medical device. Customizing the auditory prosthesis includes obtaining and evaluating system data. The system data includes data from multiple sensors, including one or more sensors of an auditory prosthesis and one or more sensors of a recipient computing device. Based on the evaluation of the system data, a target behavior is determined, such as operating the auditory prosthesis in a particular sonic environment or with particular auditory prosthesis settings.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FEATURE MANAGEMENT IN A HEARING AID
A hearing aid service system includes an Internet enabled personal communication device and one or more hearing aids provided with respective transceivers for establishing a wireless connection, whereby the personal communication device becomes a gateway for the hearing aids to a remote server. Each hearing aid includes a processor controlling the operation of the hearing aid, and a memory containing program code for at least one add-on program for the operation of the hearing aid. The server manages user accounts for a plurality of hearing aid users, including managing subscription status for the add-on program. The server creates a subscription status change event for the account upon change of the subscription status for the at least one add-on program and sends a status change instruction to the hearing aids for enabling or disabling one or more of the add-on programs by using the communication device as gateway.
Electronic devices with protective capacity
Electronic devices are designed having a housing and are configured to provide an improved degree of protection to electrical and/or mechanical components disposed therein that may be susceptible to damage from environmental elements external from the housing. The electrical device can be one carried or worn by a user, e.g., on the user's head, which can include an external component of a hearing prosthesis. The electrical device can be configured to provide an output signal in the event that a predetermined condition within the housing is detected to alert the user and/or place the electrical device in an alternative state of operation.
HEARING DEVICE FOR IDENTIFYING A SEQUENCE OF MOVEMENT FEATURES, AND METHOD OF ITS OPERATION
Hearing device including a housing worn at a user's ear; a movement detector providing movement data indicating movement of the housing; and a processor identifying, based on the movement data, movement features in a sequence. The movement features represent movement activity by the user. The processor determines a temporal characteristic of the sequence of movement features and/or an amplitude characteristic of the movement data associated with a movement feature in the sequence. A method of operating the hearing device, and a computer-readable medium storing instructions to perform the method. The processor controls maintaining a data record representing the temporal characteristic and/or the amplitude characteristic determined at a plurality of times; determines a deviation measure indicating deviation between the data record and the temporal characteristic and/or the amplitude characteristic determined at a time later than the plurality of times; and controls operation of the hearing device depending on the deviation measure.
Hearing Device for Providing Physiological Information, and Method of its Operation
A hearing device configured to be worn at an ear of a user may include a sensor unit configured to provide sensor data, the sensor unit comprising a biometric sensor configured to provide biometric data included in the sensor data; and a processor configured to determine a physiological parameter from the sensor data, the physiological parameter indicative of a physiological property of the user. The processor is configured to determine whether the physiological parameter fulfills a condition, and provide, depending on whether the physiological parameter fulfills the condition, output data based on the sensor data, the output data including at least part of the biometric data and/or information derived from at least part of the biometric data different from the physiological parameter.
ACOUSTIC FEEDBACK EVENT MONITORING SYSTEM FOR HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICES
The present disclosure relates to tracking of acoustic feedback events of a hearing assistance device, such as a hearing aid. Information about the acoustic feedback events is stored for analysis. Such information is useful for programming acoustic feedback cancellers and other parameters of a hearing assistance device.
USER ADJUSTMENT INTERFACE USING REMOTE COMPUTING RESOURCE
Disclosed herein, among other things, are systems and methods for a user adjustment interface using remote computing resources. Specifically, a system can include a mobile device in communication with a hearing assistance device or a remote server. The mobile device can interpret an acoustic environment and send information about the environment to a remote server. The remote server can determine and send information to the mobile device for use in a user interface. The mobile device can receive a user selection of hearing assistance parameter information to be sent to the hearing assistance device.
Hearing device for receiving location information from wireless network
A hearing device includes: a microphone for converting an audio input signal into a microphone output signal; a processing unit configured to provide a processed output signal based on the microphone output signal for compensating a hearing loss of a user; a receiver connected to the processing unit for converting the processed output signal into an audio output signal; and a wireless radio receiver unit connected to the processing unit for receiving information from a wireless network; wherein the processing unit is configured to determine a location of the wireless network based on the information received from the wireless network; wherein the processing unit is configured to determine a sound processing profile based on the determined location of the wireless network; and wherein the processing unit is configured to provide the processed output signal based on the determined sound processing profile.
Remotely updating a hearing aid profile
Broadly speaking, the embodiments disclosed herein describe replacing a current hearing aid profile stored in a hearing aid. In one embodiment, the hearing aid profile is updated by sending a hearing aid profile update request to a hearing aid profile service, receiving the updated hearing aid profile from the hearing aid profile service, and replacing the current hearing aid profile in the hearing aid with the updated hearing aid profile.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HEARING ASSESSMENT AND AUDIO ADJUSTMENT
An audio system for user hearing assessment includes one or more audio capture devices, and processing circuitry. The one or more audio capture devices are configured to capture audio of a conversation of a user and convert the audio to audio signals. The processing circuitry is configured to use the audio signals to identify multiple conditions associated with user hearing difficulty. The conditions include any of words, phrases, frequencies, or phonemes, and environmental audio conditions that are followed by an indication of user hearing difficulty. The processing circuitry is configured to generate a hearing profile for the user based on the identified conditions associated with user hearing difficulty. The processing circuitry is configured to adjust an operation of an audio output device using the hearing profile to reduce a frequency of user hearing difficulty if the user requires audio enhancement.
