In an embodiment, an ear-worn device is included having a control circuit, a microphone in electrical communication with the control circuit, an electroacoustic transducer for generating sound in electrical communication with the control circuit, and a power supply circuit in electrical communication with the control circuit, wherein the ear-worn device is configured to track exposure to hearing degrading conditions over time via at least one of the microphone and a sensor package and wherein the ear-worn device is configured to store data regarding the tracked exposure. Other embodiments are also included herein.
MOBILE TERMINAL HAVING HEARING AID FUNCTION, AND EARPHONE-BASED HEARING AID SYSTEM USING THE SAME
A mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a microphone configured to obtain and provide an input sound source, an earphone connection module configured to support connection and communication with an earphone, and a hearing aid application configured to set a sound source fitting condition corresponding to a user hearing threshold, convert the input sound source obtained through the microphone into a corrected sound source according to the sound source fitting condition, and then output the corrected sound source to the earphone.
Headset location-based device and application control
Disclosed is a headset for audio transmission. The headset is configured to be worn by a user. The headset comprises a speaker for sound transmission into the users ear. The headset comprises a wireless communication unit for communication with an external device. The headset comprises a connection to a location-based service software, the location-based service software is configured for controlling at least one headset feature based on location data of the headset. The headset comprises a processing unit. The processing unit is configured for obtaining current location data of the headset. The processing unit is configured for enabling the location-based service software to detect if the current location data of the headset corresponds to a geographic region for which a first geo-fence is defined by the user. The processing unit is configured for changing the at least one headset feature, if a change criterion associated with the first geofence is satisfied; wherein the change of at least one headset feature is defined by the user.
HEARING SYSTEM CONTAINING A HEARING INSTRUMENT AND A METHOD FOR OPERATING THE HEARING INSTRUMENT
A hearing system (2) including a hearing instrument (2) and a method for operating a hearing instrument (2) are provided. Therein, a sound signal is captured from an environment of the hearing instrument (2). The captured sound signal is analysed to recognize own-voice intervals, in which the user speaks. The captured sound signal is analysed, during recognized own-voice intervals, to determine a rate of speech (RU) of the user. The captured sound signal is processed in dependence of a set of signal processing parameters (G, NL, BW), and the processed sound signal is output to a user of the hearing instrument (2). Said set of signal processing parameters (G, NL, BW) is adapted if said determined rate of speech (RU) falls below a threshold (T.sub.RU).
Earpiece advisor
An earpiece in embodiments of the present invention may have one or more of the following features: (a) an earpiece housing, (b) at least one speaker, (c) a plurality of sensors disposed within the earpiece housing, and (d) a processor disposed within the earpiece housing and operatively connected to the plurality of sensors and the at least one speaker, wherein the processor is configured to use an artificial intelligence framework to evaluate sensor input from the plurality of sensors to provide advice to the user.
Hearing evaluation and configuration of a hearing assistance-device
A method for evaluating hearing of a user comprising: generating a baseline hearing profile for the user comprising a set of gain values based on a volume setting, each gain value in the set of gain values corresponding to a frequency band in a set of frequency bands; accessing a soundbite comprising a phrase characterized by a frequency spectrum predominantly within one frequency band; playing the soundbite amplified by a first gain in the frequency band; playing the soundbite amplified by a second gain in the frequency band; receiving a preference input representing a preference of the user from amongst the soundbite amplified by the first gain and the soundbite amplified by the second; and modifying a gain value, corresponding to the frequency band, in the baseline hearing profile based on the preference input to generate a refined hearing profile compensating for hearing deficiency of the user.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CUSTOMIZED AMPLIFICATION OF AUDITORY SIGNALS BASED ON SWITCHING OF TUNING PROFILES
Disclosed herein are method, system, and computer program product embodiments for performing the continuous tuning of received audio input from an earpiece, wherein the audio input is independently altered in the frequency domain for output to an earpiece worn by a user based on tuning profiles chosen by the user, or in combination with power conservation tuning profile auto-switching modes, including a time only and location only mode, switching tuning profiles based on data analyzed from various electronic sensors, for an optimal experience.
Hearing device with user driven settings adjustment
The present subject matter provides a hearing device with selective adjustment of processor settings based on various characteristics of an input sound, in response to adjustment of output sound volume by a user. This addresses problems of undesirable sound effects resulting from applying same changes to processor settings to input sounds of all levels, frequencies, and classes.
METHOD AND A HEARING DEVICE FOR IMPROVED SEPARABILITY OF TARGET SOUNDS
A hearing device, a hearing system and a method for improving a hearing impaired person's ability to perceptually separate a target sound from competing sounds, the target sound and the competing sounds forming a composite sound signal having a given frequency range, where the method comprises the steps of: (i) subdividing the frequency range of the composite sound signal into a plurality of frequency sub-bands; (ii) grouping frequency sub-bands based on comparable characteristics of the plurality of frequency sub-bands; (iii) for each of the groups calculating a group envelope; and (iv) multiplying the signal in the frequency sub-bands of each individual group by a function or functions that enhance(s) peaks of the group envelope and/or attenuates energy in troughs in the group envelope. The comparable characteristics may be the correlation between the envelope of each of the bands in the specific group of frequency sub-bands and the corresponding group envelope.
CONTROL OF A HEARING DEVICE
A hearing aid device for augmenting environment sounds to alleviate a hearing loss of the user. The hearing aid device comprises a sensor to sense an input from the user in order to change one or more operating parameters of the hearing aid.
