METHOD FOR THE AUTOMATED ASCERTAINMENT OF PARAMETER VALUES FOR A HEARING AID
20170347205 · 2017-11-30 ·

A method facilitates the ascertainment of parameter values of a hearing aid for a user-specific auditory situation. For that purpose, blog entries from a wearer of a hearing aid are evaluated in automated fashion and the evaluation is taken as a basis for determining adapted parameter values.

Method for operating a hearing system, hearing system and hearing device

A method operates a hearing system having a hearing device and modifies an input signal for the purpose of sound output to a user and, applies multiple algorithms with a respective potency, as a result of which a respective algorithm is applied with a present potency in a present situation. The hearing system recurrently receives a report from the user indicating that the user is dissatisfied with the sound output in the present situation. The hearing system has a database, containing multiple weights for each algorithm, to rate a change of the potency. If a report is received, each of the algorithms is rated using the weights to ascertain an individual-case relevance for each of the algorithms, to assess the effect of a change of the potency. Multiple individual-case relevances are combined to form a relevance value for each algorithm, the relevance values are compared with one another.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE USING A COMPOUND METRIC FOR SOUND ENHANCEMENT

A method, comprising receiving at least one sound at an electronic device. The at least one sound is enhanced for the at least one user based on a compound metric. The compound metric is calculated using at least two sound metrics selected from an engineering metric, a perceptual metric, and a physiological metric. The engineering metric comprises a difference between an output signal and a desired signal. At least one of the perceptual metric and the physiological metric is based at least in part on input sensed from the at least one user in response to the received at least one sound.

Directivity hearing-aid device and method thereof
11490211 · 2022-11-01 · ·

The present disclosure relates a directivity hearing-aid device which primarily includes an audio pick-up device, a processor, a selector, and a speaker disposed in a case. The audio pick-up device receives a sound in a range which is pointed by a beam, and the processor generates a detected sound component by amplifying a sound feature point audio in a sound component corresponding to a detecting target which is selected by the selector and generates adjusted sound components by suppressing or shielding the sound feature point audio in the other sound components. Then the processor combines the detected sound component and the adjusted sound components to generate an output sound signal. Accordingly, the directivity hearing-aid device of the present disclosure provides selectively receiving the detected sound component and suppressing or shielding the other impurity sounds to facilitate the user hears audio from a specific object thereby.

Examples disclosed herein are relevant to monitoring and treating sensory conditions affecting an individual. Sensors and intelligence integrated within a sensory prosthesis (e.g., an auditory prosthesis) can automatically obtain objective data regarding the ability of one or more of an individuals senses during day-to-day activities. A treatment action can be taken based on the objective data. Further disclosed herein are techniques relating to reducing the gathering of irrelevant sensory input and automatically transmitting relevant data to a caregiver device.

Determination of Room Reverberation for Signal Enhancement

A hearing prosthesis arrangement is described for a hearing assisted patient. A microphone senses an acoustic environment around the hearing assisted patient and generates a corresponding microphone output signal. An audio signal processor processes the microphone output signal and produces a corresponding prosthesis stimulation signal to the patient for audio perception. The audio signal processor includes a dereverberation process that measures a dedicated reverberation reference signal produced in the acoustic environment to determine reverberation characteristics of the acoustic environment, and reduces reverberation effects in the hearing prosthesis stimulation signal based on the reverberation characteristics.
