HIERARCHICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CLASSIFICATION IN A HEARING PROSTHESIS
Presented herein are techniques for generating a hierarchical classification of a set of sound signals received at hearing prosthesis. The hierarchical classification includes a plurality of nested classifications of a sound environment associated with the set of sound signals received at hearing prosthesis, including a primary classification and one or more secondary classifications that each represent different characteristics of the sound environment. The primary classification represents a basic categorization of the sound environment, while the secondary classifications define sub-categories/refinements of the associated primary classification and/or other secondary classifications.
HEARING DEVICE COMPRISING A STRESS EVALUATOR
A hearing device configured to be worn by a user comprises one or more microphones, a processing unit, a speaker, a wireless communication unit, and stress evaluator. The user wearing the hearing device is in an environment defined by an acoustic scene. The microphones receive audio signals from audio sources in the environment and provide them to the processing unit which applies processing parameters to thereby process the audio signals. The speaker provides the processed audio signals to the user. The stress evaluator generates an indication of stress of the user, stress of the user being related to the acoustic scene. The processing unit then decides whether to perform an action on the basis of the received audio signals and the indication of stress of the user.
Hearing device incorporating dynamic microphone attenuation during streaming
A hearing device comprises a microphone configured to produce microphone signals and is coupled to an input of a first amplifier. A wireless transceiver is configured to receive an audio stream and is coupled to an input of a second amplifier. The second amplifier is configured to amplify the audio stream at a pre-established gain. A digital signal processor (DSP) is coupled to the microphone and the first and second amplifiers. The DSP is configured to monitor the microphone signals for a predetermined sound type of interest to the wearer during playback of the audio stream by a speaker and, while maintaining playback of the audio stream at the pre-established gain, automatically adjust gain of the first amplifier coupled to the microphone in response to detecting the predetermined sound type of interest.
Selectively collecting and storing sensor data of a hearing system
A method for collecting and storing sensor data (56, 64) of a hearing system (10) comprises: receiving the sensor data (56, 64) of at least one sensor (20, 32, 34) of a hearing device (12) of the hearing system (10), wherein the hearing device (12) is worn by a user; detecting a situation (72) of interest by classifying at least a part of the sensor data (56, 64) with a classifier (61) implemented in the hearing system (10); collecting the sensor data (56, 64), when the hearing system (10) is in a situation (72) of interest; and sending the collected sensor data (76) to a storage system (54) in data communication with the hearing system (10).
Hearing device configured for audio classification comprising an active vent, and method of its operation
A hearing device may include a housing configured to be at least partially inserted into an ear canal of a user and comprising a venting channel, wherein the venting channel is configured to provide for venting between an inner region of the ear canal and an ambient environment outside the ear canal through the venting channel; an acoustic valve comprising a valve member moveable relative to the venting channel between different positions; a sound detector configured to provide an audio signal representative of a detected sound; a processor configured to determine a characteristic from the audio signal and to classify the audio signal by assigning the audio signal to a class from a plurality of predetermined classes depending on the determined characteristic; and an output transducer configured to be acoustically coupled to the inner region of the ear canal.
HEARING DEVICE COMPRISING AN OWN VOICE PROCESSOR
A hearing device, e.g. a hearing aid or a headset, configured to be worn at or in an ear of a user, the hearing device comprising at least one input transducer for converting a sound in an environment of the hearing device to at least one electric input signal representing said sound; an own voice detector configured to estimate whether or not, or with what probability, said sound originates from the voice of the user, and to provide an own voice control signal indicative thereof, a face mask detector configured to estimate whether or not, or with what probability, said user wears a face mask while speaking, and to provide face mask control signal indicative thereof. A method of operating a hearing device is further disclosed. Thereby an improved hearing aid or headset may be provided.
HEARING AID SYSTEM, METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A hearing aid method, system, and non-transitory computer readable medium, include a cognitive state analysis circuit configured to analyze a cognitive state of a user, a context analysis circuit configured to analyze a context of the user, and an audio characteristic controller configures to control an audio characteristic of a hearing aid based on a joint assessment of the cognitive state of the user and the context of the user.
Equalized hearing aid system
An equalized hearing aid system includes a microphone, a first equalizer, a first mixer, and a first speaker coupled in series forming a first signal path with a second mixer coupled to the first equalizer within the first signal path. The microphone, a second equalizer, a third mixer, and a second speaker are coupled in series forming a second signal path with a fourth mixer coupled to the second equalizer within the second signal path. A control interface may be coupled to at least one of the first equalizer and the second equalizer. A Bluetooth module may be coupled to at least one of the first equalizer and the second equalizer. A third equalizer may be coupled to input signal into the first signal path and a fourth equalizer may be coupled to input signal into the second signal path.
System for outputting audio signals and respective method and setting device
What is described is a system for outputting audio signals having a first output device for outputting audio signals having predeterminable parameter values of a first set of settable parameters, a data storage for storing parameter values, and an administration device. Thus, the administration device accesses the data storage and searches for stored parameter values for a set of parameters which is equal or similar to the first set of parameters. In addition, in case of having found stored parameter values, the administration device transfers the parameter values and/or parameter values determined therefrom to the first output device.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A HEARING DEVICE, HEARING DEVICE AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
A method operates a hearing device, in which an adaptation to the hearing device by a hearing device wearer is determined. An ambient situation is detected, and a value is assigned to the ambient situation. The value is used as a degree of adaptation. A hearing device includes a microphone for detecting the ambient situation and a hearing device system includes a hearing device, as well as the use of a hearing device and a computer program product.
