Sliding bias and peak limiting for optical hearing devices
10531206 · 2020-01-07 · ·

A processor comprises instructions to adjust a bias of an input signal in order to decrease a duty cycle of a pulse modulated optical signal. The bias can be increased, decreased, or maintained in response to one or more measured values of the signal. In many embodiments, a gain of the signal is adjusted with the bias in order to inhibit distortion. The bias can be adjusted slowly in order to inhibit audible noise, and the gain can be adjusted faster than the bias in order to inhibit clipping of the signal. In many embodiments, one or more of the bias or the gain is adjusted in response to a value of the signal traversing a threshold amount. The value may comprise a trough of the signal traversing the threshold.

An antenna for inductively transmitting information and/or energy, in particular a hearing aid antenna, has a foil-like antenna base body that has a central coil core section that holds a first coil, and outer antenna sections arranged opposite one another on both sides of the central coil core section. The outer antenna sections respectively have an edge-side coil core section that adjoins the central coil core section and holds a second coil. The outer antenna sections are at an angle relative to the central coil core section. There is also described a device, in particular a hearing device, which is preferably a hearing aid, with such an antenna.

Noise reduction for implantable hearing prostheses
10512775 · 2019-12-24 · ·

Presented herein are techniques for time interleaving the sampling of input signals with the delivery of stimulation signals to a recipient of an implantable electrically-stimulating hearing prosthesis. The input signals, which are received via one or more input channels and sampled by a sound processing unit, are susceptible to electrical feedback from the stimulation signals. As such, in accordance with embodiments presented herein, the sampling of the input signals by the sound processing unit, and the delivery of the stimulation signals to the recipient, are synchronized with one another so as to avoid stimulation-evoked electrical feedback within the input signals.

The plurality of layers can include a first pair of layers and a second pair of layers different from the first pair of layers. The substrate can have a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The sensor package can include a transducer coupled to the second side of the substrate. The sensor package can include an inductor electrically coupled to the transducer. The inductor can be configured as a single layer trace on an inductor layer within the substrate and disposed between the first pair of layers within the substrate. The first pair of layers can be more distal from the second side of the substrate than the second pair of layers.

Method to Reduce H-Field Coupling for E-noise and a Kind of Non-Coaxial Integrated Earbuds
20240064453 · 2024-02-22 · ·

The present disclosure provides for an arrangement of components within a hearable device, such as earbuds, to reduce H field coupling for E noise improvement. A battery is positioned above a magnet and speaker, such that the battery is not coaxially aligned with either the magnet or the speaker. An internal positive tab of a battery is positioned farthest from a speaker yoke, while an internal negative tab of the battery is closer to the speaker yoke. Magnetic flux poles of a contact magnet have different contributions for electric field coupling.
