Sensor hub in connector plug or cable for a hearing assistance device
Disclosed herein, among other things, are apparatus and methods for a hearing assistance device with a sensor hub. Various aspects of the present subject matter include a method of using a hearing assistance device. A method includes sensing biometric signals from a wearer of a hearing assistance device using one or more sensor modules included in or on a receiver housing of the hearing assistance device, the receiver housing configured to connect to an end of a cable and configured to be placed in or near an ear canal of the wearer. The method also includes transmitting data indicative of the sensed biometric signals from the one or more sensor modules to a sensor hub in a connector of the cable, and processing the data using the sensor hub.
EAR-WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING MULTI-FUNCTION REMOVAL HANDLE
An ear-wearable electronic device comprises a shell and a faceplate connected to the shell. Electronic circuitry and a power source are respectively disposed in the shell. A removal handle includes a proximal end connected to the faceplate. First and second electrical conductors extend along the removal handle and comprise first and second proximal ends coupled to the electronic circuitry. An electrical contact module is disposed at a distal end of the removal handle. The electrical contact module comprises a substrate. A first electrical contact is mounted on, or supported by, the substrate and coupled to a first distal end of the first electrical conductor. A second electrical contact is mounted on, or supported by, the substrate and coupled to a second distal end of the second electrical conductor.
CONNECTOR, SEAL, SYSTEM, AND PRODUCTION METHOD
A connector for connecting a hearing aid to a cable, the connector comprising the following: a connector housing with at least one recess; and a seal with a main body arranged at least in part(s) on an outer circumference of the connector housing, and at least one coupling portion arranged at least partially in the recess, so that the seal is connected to the connector housing at least in part(s) in a substantially positive manner.
Hearing system comprising a hearing aid and a processing device
A hearing aid system configured to compensate for a hearing impairment of a use comprises A) a wearable device adapted for being worn by the user and comprising a1) an input stage comprising at least one input transducer for converting sound around the user to at least one electric input signal representing said sound, and a2) an input stage for providing stimuli representative of a processed version of said least one electric input signal to said user, said stimuli being perceivable by said user as sound; and B) a non-wearable device comprising b1) a processor, and b2) a power supply interface for providing power to the processor. The wearable device and the non-wearable device comprise respective transceiver circuitry for establishing a low latency wireless audio communication link between them. The processor of the non-wearable device comprises an audio processor configured to process said at least one electric input signal, or a signal originating therefrom, to at least partially compensate for the hearing impairment of the user and to provide said processed version thereof. The power supply interface of the non-wearable device is electrically connected to an electricity network. Thereby an improved processing power of a hearing aid may be provided. The invention may e.g. be used in flexible hearing aid systems with a situation-dependent configurable processing power.
IMPLANTABLE HEARING DEVICE FOR ENHANCING THE HEARING CAPABILITY OF A USER
An implantable hearing device for enhancing the hearing capability of a user is disclosed. The implantable hearing device may include: at least one housing having a top side to be substantially directed towards the skin of a user and at least one bottom side to be substantially directed opposite to the top side, at least one implant antenna element for inductively connecting the implantable hearing device to an external device via a magnetic field, in particular to at least one external hearing device. The bottom side of the at least one housing at least partly is of metallic material, and the top side of the at least one housing at least partly is of nonmetallic material. Additionally, an implantable hearing system is disclosed.
Hearing aid with speaker unit assembly
The present disclosure relates to a hearing aid and detachable speaker unit assembly. The detachable speaker unit assembly comprises a fastening structure to provide an enhanced removal force and stable insertion into the ear canal of the user.
Auditory device cable arrangement
An auditory device includes an electronics module, a receiver and a cable connecting the electronics module to the receiver. The electronics module includes an enclosure shaped to be positioned behind an outer portion of either a left ear or a right ear of a user and circuitry within the enclosure. The receiver is configured for being located in either a left or a right ear canal of the user. When inserted into the left ear canal, the receiver occupies a left ear canal insertion position, and when inserted into the right ear canal, the receiver occupies a right ear canal insertion position. The cable and the receiver are shaped and configured such that the receiver is presented in a neutral position when no external force other than gravity is acting upon the receiver, the neutral position being between the left ear canal insertion position and the right ear canal insertion position.
Hearing device
A hearing device has a housing in which a receiver is arranged as an electrical component. An antenna arrangement is formed, which has a winding in the form of a coil, which is arranged around the receiver with the interposition of a shielding foil. The shielding foil has a section extending around the receiver and several lugs adjoining it, which project beyond the receiver, the lugs enclosing between them an interspace adjoining the receiver. The shielding foil has in particular two layers, namely a magnetic layer and an electrical shielding layer. By this arrangement an antenna arrangement with high sensitivity is formed and at the same time a shielded partial area is created in the inter-space in which further components can be arranged. Due to the design of the lugs, which are particularly flexible, they can be attached to an inner wall of a housing.
Hearing device assembly
The present disclosure relates to a hearing device assembly comprising a behind-the-ear base unit and an in-the-ear transducer module, which communicate via a single wire interface and wherein the base unit is configured to take on a communication role in response to a signal asserted by the transducer module.
Socket connector for a hearing device
The present disclosure relates to a socket connector for a hearing device. The hearing device comprises a Behind-The-Ear (BTE) unit and a Receiver-In-the-Ear (RIE) unit, the BTE unit comprising a frame, wherein the frame comprises electronic components of the BTE unit, the RIE unit comprising a plug connector configured for providing an electrical connection between the RIE unit and the BTE unit. The socket connector is connectable to the frame of the BTE unit and is configured for detachably connecting the plug connector to the frame.
